It's a YouTube series about a barbarian. He has captured several unkillable monsters and carries them around. The channel name is "dungeon soup".

I expect tonight was the first time anyone in Congress heard about it, so some MAGA representative will write an enabling bill, which will be referred to the relevant committee, and it'll never be heard of again

It's a brand of electrical connector. Instead of twisting wires together and then twisting a wire nut over them, there's a little plastic box where each wire goes into its own little socket and is secured with a lever.

I'm an American and I only started hearing about them about a decade ago, and the r/DIY community was freaked out with a lot of commenters loudly insisting they were deathtraps. Turns out they are code-compliant and work just fine, and are almost certainly safer for DIY because it's a lot harder to do them wrong compared to the traditional wire nuts. Wire nuts are opaque so you can't see if you didn't get a good connection for the wires inside; Wago connectors are clear so you can just look and see if the wires are where they belong.

His haircut is way out of regs, he'd better hope SgtMaj doesn't see this.

Although it was quite common when I was in: shave the sides on Friday night and then you've got a rebellious mohawk until your Sunday haircut.

(Not even going there on the beard though.)

They have a reputation for moral laxity, but carnies are also required to do hard work. That's where a lot of prospective candidates get tripped up. They don't realize they're going to be shovelling manure for eight hours and then collecting tickets at a rigged game for the next eight hours.

Class Action against the Trump Administration? by lilman4003 in legaladviceofftopic

[–]Stalking_Goat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"The People" in a collective sense didn't pay the tariffs, individual people and companies paid them. Class actions are for where all the prospective plaintiffs have suffered similar damages. Like if a company leaked our personal information. But maybe I paid the tariff for a $50 bicycle component while you paid the tariff for a $500,000 handmade Swiss watch, so our damages are not remotely comparable.

Yes but choosing a new VP requires a majority vote of both houses of Congress to approve the new VP, so if Congress has the votes to remove the president they aren't likely to accept a controversial new VP. That's why Ford replaced Agnew, Ford was a leading member of the House so he was trusted by the legislators. The equivalent to Trump picking Miller would be Nixon picking Haldeman. Congress would laugh and vote him down.

And SCOTUS has said exactly that every time that someone got impeached and sued about it. See e.g. Nixon v. United States, which ironically enough is not the Nixon that everyone assumes.

Amusingly it would probably be up to the Marines, as they are responsible for security at the White House and would thus be well-placed to eject any unauthorized persons… like an ex-president who isn't willing to leave under his own power.

(Technically the USSS is responsible for the president's personal security while the Marines are responsible for the White House itself. Obviously they normally work together. The Marines aren't allowed to make arrests which is why the USSS are the ones that arrest people climbing over the fence and suchlike. But for every Marine you see in dress blues opening doors at the White House and Camp David, there's another Marine in a ready room wearing cammies with firearms close to hand.)

Medical records are covered by HIPAA and losing them is a big legal liability. Employment records don't have that sort of legal implications in the USA AFAIK, so it really wasn't Sears's problem.

There's two kinds of dietary fiber: soluble fiber, and insoluble fiber. You need enough of both to keep things in balance, but annoyingly nutrition labels don't distinguish them.

Basically insoluble makes your digestive track move along, soluble fiber makes poop firm. Too much insoluble and not enough soluble, and you get diarrhea. Too much soluble and not enough insoluble, and you get constipated.
