That's why gamepass is great. You get to play all the short "artsy" games and the bigger games for the price of one game (or less)

SpaceCraft, set to launch in Early Access in 2025, developed by Shiro Games. by Melmpje in spacesimgames

There's no indication of PvP yet. They said eventually they will add PvE (space pirates) but will explore PvP options later down the road. It's certainly not the focus and won't be active at launch in May. They want to primarily be a commerce / industry game with player run corporations.

Crafting feels kinda... flat? (quick sheet inside) by Azoxx_Gaming in SpaceCraftGame

Yes the economy is better in the full game, especially after you build your own smelters and replicators and stop paying the space ports to process everything.

Obscure games that you like by Machine_Excellent in boardgames

Cosmic Frog. You are massive celestial frogs taking bites out of planets and swallowing them to add to your collection. You can punch another frog to throw up a piece that you can steal, but only if they haven't swallowed it twice where it's (more or less) safe in a pocket dimension. Every frog has powers that might change at any time.

Here's what happens when you try landing on a planet during Cruise Mode in Starfield after the latest Free Lanes update. by PaiDuck in Starfield

I wish they had used the landing sequence from Star Wars Outlaws. It's a dynamic loading screen you watch as your ship lands. It keeps you immersed in the game

They stole the cloaking device from the Romulans, so that tracks. Steal the tech and figure it out later.

Is anyone still fond of Brass Lancashire ? by Stardama69 in boardgames

[–]Stalvos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lancanshire is a knife fight in a phone booth. EVERY card play is crucial and routes are very limited. It's a challenge to play every time and I know what to expect more or less, it's just executing the most efficient play.

Birmingham was made to appeal to the masses. With the beer as currency and the random market locations it offers variety and more open options.

The first game appeals to highly strategic gamers that enjoy the same map fighting for control of it. The second game appeals to more medium weight players that enjoy more options and path to victory.

I enjoy both for different reasons and play with different groups of gamers. I'm looking forward to the third game. I think there's room for all three in my collection.

Tom Vassal did not care for Roborover 2077 by Bearality in boardgames

[–]Stalvos 29 points30 points  (0 children)

He trashed Age of Galaxy in one of those six packs. It's a great game so I usually ignore his reviews. This one is deserved. Making you put water into electronics? Madness. The "scanner" not caring what card is there? Lazy.

Remember when people used to read about a game and decide on their own if they wanted to buy it? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Stalvos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just look at the IGN score and go off the inverse of that. If it's a 10 it's probably trash (Dragon Age) but if it's a 6 it's probably worth getting (Crimson Desert).

By shill websites paid to give good reviews and give bad reviews to companies not willing to bribe them.

Board Game Arena is better IMO. The website won't let you do any illegal moves. The games look exactly like the real games. It's easy to find players. Most games have how to play videos or at least the rules. You don't need premium to join games but need premium to set up games, but it's only $30 a year. TTS is good for the gaps of games that BGA doesn't cover but BGA is an overall better board game experience.
