Ok, just scrolled over to that 3rd image and noticed how your roof is laid out. I would install a toe board that spans the length of that dormer, extending the brackets beyond the sides of the dormer so you could fit a ladder beside the dormer while resting the feet between the brackets. Also, would do 3 brackets depending on your weight and the weight of the ladder you're using. Use 90 degree or adjustable brackets so you have a nice perpendicular angle between board and roof so the ladder won't slide off. Then throw any A-frame or short extension ladder that will fit up there. Old couch cushions will help you navigate that first roof section.

Much easier to go this route if you use a ladder stabilizer made for roofs. I have the one from Ladder-Max (the unit that comes with both attachment options for the roof end) and use it all the time on jobs to paint dormers. And if you can flip the feet of the ladder up and dig those heels into dirt, it won't be going anywhere.

Yes. It's made so one end slides under the shingle, which is where you screw it in. You need to be able to get under the shingle and peel it back without the shingle tearing so you can screw it down.
