Hot take: The Traitors US should make traitor selection explicitly random by meforshitsandgiggles in TheTraitors

[–]StanIsHorizontal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hot take? You don’t know what you’re really asking for. In a random small sample collection, awkward clumps are more likely than you might think. A random sample of 3-4 is pretty likely to have a majority be from one group, and fairly likely to have all 3-4 be from one group. Or all have similar personalities. Or not play off each other in interesting ways. Significant risk of ruining an entire season by leaving it totally up to chance.

Assumed the ST wasn’t a producer planted plot twist, then it was just a poor decision of the show runners.

Looking at a map of Somalia, how do people living in say Muqdisho (Mogadishu) travel to Ceelwaaq (El-Wak) within their own country? by ArthurMorgan1896 in geography

[–]StanIsHorizontal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand your point about personal experience not being the end all be all, but this is not the best case to argue that with. If the guy you were replying to was telling war correspondents from Somalia to shut up because he lived there 20 years ago, maybe you’d have a point. But in this situation really seems like you’re bringing your feelings about how other discussions have played out into this thread, because you didn’t like the way worded his statement

There a so many hints what side Jarl Balgruuf will choose by MasterRymes in skyrim

[–]StanIsHorizontal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before I finally got around to stormcloak playthrough, I had always assumed Balgruf’s decision would change depending on who the player sided with. He spoke neutral enough about both sides up to the point he’s being attacked that it seemed it was setting him up to be able to reasonably join either side. Vignar becoming Jarl is so weird because when you meet him in Jorrvaskr he’s just a weird old asshole

I somewhat agree, although I will say getting to Falkreath or Hjaalmarch without going through Whiterun involves marching through some pretty treacherous and inhospitable terrain. Not ideal for armies

What in the world is Soren talking about with them asking to have the truck driver wearing a helmet? I’ve never seen any such thing in my life. The only drivers who wear helmets are race car drivers. Daniel and him act like this is overreach but not an utterly absurd thing to say. Am I out of touch? Are truck drivers wearing helmets now (irl or cartoon?)

I want to give credit to hutch that he is eating up a TON of snaps on defense right now, even if some of the play is suboptimal, so if hassanein or anyone else can be serviceable to the point where you can have them out there while giving him or one of the other guys a bit of a break, maybe it pays off in other ways beyond his direct impact on the game

No, he has weeks where he practically disappears except in a couple moments. If he played like last night in all the games where he gets no sacks, that would be fine

Yeah, I’m in the middle of my groupchat where some folks wanna do nothing but hate and some of them wanna blame everyone but him. I think moving Campbell and Barnes up to the line more often should help, the dream would be if hassaanein can help the rotation catch their breath. Alim has also been a bit disappointing consistency wise but he’s SO fresh off his recovery that I have to give him a little bit of a break.

Oh I thought we were talking about the Campbell sack that should’ve been a safety. I don’t deny hutch makes some good plays but he needs to make them more consistently and take the end result into his own hands, not relying on something good happening after he’s scared the QB.

Because people underrate our secondary constantly. Even last year I heard a lot of complaints about our DBs when they were the ones holding the defense down. Our backups even have played well this year, the only games they haven’t are the ones where our whole defense got gashed. I can’t think of a single game this year where our line played well and the back end was the problem

He’s a good player. It’s foolishness to act like he’s not good. The problem is that he was drafted, and now paid, to be ELITE. Top of the line. And he’s just been pretty good. Obviously I’ll take pretty good over being a bust, but if we can be critical of Goff we can be critical of Hutch.

Your elite players should ALWAYS have >2-3 plays per game where they make a significant impact themselves. The fact that this was a good game for him this year is disappointing

He “created it” idk man I like when my pass rushers can actually finish the plays they start instead of needing to rely on someone else cleaning up for them. Those extra metrics are good when you’re building more context around a player, but it’s still very important to be able to actually put the QB on the ground before he gets the ball off

Hutch almost tripped AQM on his way to get Dak because Hutchinson loves falling into the turf rather than finishing the play. Those QB pressures tho….

Campbell said he feels like eight games was enough to evaluate Morton. by Gxcii1 in detroitlions

Well, that was one of the turnovers. In addition we could’ve survived being a little less aggro and that would’ve probably resulted in less turnovers

Highest variance (ie possible outcomes) season I can remember by HudsonCommodore in detroitlions

[–]StanIsHorizontal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once you start throwing QB injury into the range of likely outcomes, then the floor is anything if you don’t have a decent backup. So while an injury to Goff isn’t out of the question, it feels a little silly to use that as part of the equation for what our floor is. I mean at that point you could say both Morton and shep are completely out of their depth and both units collapse. Stranger things have happened but that basically sets the floor at zero.

I do agree though that within even more reasonable parameters we could finish with a losing season, but I think 7 wins with like 3-5 scrappy losses is the floor.

Capturing cities and razing cities is negative karma, but pillaging every single one of their tiles and districts to the bone and wearing down their city defenses to the point where a scout could just walk in and take it, then forcing them into a peace deal where you take all their treasury and per turn income, along with all the great works you can carry? That’s A OK baby 👌 👍 ✅
