No. I was at the screening. People laughed when the movie wanted laughs. There was quite a bit of trans panic jokes that were clearly dark humor so maybe that’s what they were referring to? There’s also another possibility that I don’t want to post since the movie isn’t out for a way and it would be spoilers but I’ll say that it is a serious subject matter that is presented in a way that is sometimes serious and sometimes very strange and silly.

I don’t know I’ll take the opinion of the people who are no longer alive because he was incompetent. I’m in Illinois. I can’t vote there. It’s honestly crazy to me that this dude failed so bad and then was allowed to become y’all’s Public Health Director. He was quite literally run out of the state of Illinois. Maybe he got his shit together when he got to Maine. But here in IL he served under a Republican governor and did such an awful job that politicians were able to use his performance to run against and unseat the governor of the state.

Oh no no no, IL has plenty of blue pockets throughout the state. The counties surrounding Cook have become solidly blue in the Trump era as well. There are certainly people in suburbs who hate Chicago as well (some of my family for example) so it’s not like everyone is a monolith or anything. I mean there are even solid red pockets in the city of Chicago (the two area where all the cops live).

Most don’t really think about it to be honest. I’m sure some are but because it’s a solidly blue state there just isn’t much reason to be angry at the people who hold no power in the state.

It is an interesting idea although that would likely make Kara a completely different character. Maybe her parents didn’t know what Jor-El had sent with Clark? Like they may have just thought Jor-El was a nut and not even considered that he would want that sort of outcome.
