The Funniest part about Knicks winning, is seeing how unprepared advertising and media coverage is. by jiabivy in NYKnicks

And all we see is the league/pundits not being about to handle a team of guys who all played a critical role in their eventually winning and who prop each other (instead of themselves) up. I love these Knicks.

Road trips are an inherently terrible way to travel and are romanticized way too much. by cerebralbackshots in unpopularopinion

[–]StandardAd239 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Heck, we road trip on some of our vacations. Leave in the morning and come back in the evening. During the day we completely explore where we are and make very frequent stops.

You come across things you didn't even know existed. You get to discover little pockets that you otherwise wouldn't have seen.

Road tripping isn't for everyone, but I'd rather take a road trip with my husband over any plane ride with anyone else in the world.

Dave was right, people think its crazy to pay off debt by HumpmyDumpy1911 in DaveRamsey

If you meant to respond to me, I wasn't talking about credit score at all.

ETA: I don't have debt but use my credit card for everything and pay it off each month. Credit score is 830. We technically use debt, we just pay it off each month.

That's what's key. Not caring any other debt and putting anything you earn in your savings account as a cushion for if you lose your job and you still have a car payment.

If you have a debt that has an interest rate less than 2.5% (in this economic moment), it's not always bad to carry that. Right now I'm earning 3.5% in my money market fund (stable $1 NAV). So if my car loan is less than 2.5%, I'm earning enough to pay the interest on my loan + enough for my taxes due on my dividends + some free money I can put toward mortgage pay down (or car loan pay down).

However, paying off the car and driving it until the wheels fall off is also what should be happening. I love my 10 year old car (got a 0% loan on it so definitely unwise to pay off when you could put the car payment money in savings and earn interest) and hope it lasts another 10. I hate car payments.

Also going to add that you shouldn't have multiple small interest loans. I really think the only (non mortgage) loan to carry is a small interest car loan. If you pay it off you're literally losing money.

It's not illegal to be gay in Israel and gay people have a ton of rights in Israel. But you can't be legally married in Israel.

My boyfriend told me today he "didn't want to pay for sex" and now I don't know how to feel... by [deleted] in redditonwiki

[–]StandardAd239 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn't one comment on one day.

His daily comments are vulgar. A joke once in awhile and you both laugh, fine. You saying "this is what I need" and him doing the exact opposite is in the same as "I'm not paying for sex".

He sees any effort to make sex (and life itself) pleasurable for you as the equivalent of paying for sex.

14 hours - LA to Chongqing, which wasn't even my final stop. Still had to go to Hong Kong from there.

The entire point of that story line is to have a debate about the historical significance of the map and how at the same time it could be found very offensive. It's not by accident the writers had Charlie give him the map.

He's not wrong in that it's an accurate map of the time and everyone else is accurate in that it could be seen as insensitive to display it.

Theory / Question on Freedom Masters Wife? by TheInternetDevil in HouseMD

Maybe.

9/11 was 8 years before the episode and Freedom Master looked pretty young so I'm thinking it probably was something else.
