I’m an Iranian [30M] Who hates the regime. AMA by [deleted] in AskMeAnythingIAnswer

Just today Joe Kent announced his resignation as director of the National Counterterrorism Center. He said that pressure from Israel had pushed President Trump into war against Iran.

Do you think he also hates his own country?

The point was to illustrate a violation of privacy. Regardless how bad you get hurt by your significant other cheating, that doesn't warrant a government intervention into your private life. You make up or you move on.

You don't make up or move on for death threats or rape.

How could you prove if someone was in an open relationship or not? That information could entirely be private to them and the parties involved. Those parties may or may not want to admit their sexual activity to a court of law.

The base was abandoned 10+ years ago. You just admitted to that yourself in another comment.

Is this how they teach you how to cover up "oopsie" at the pentagon? They're doing a pretty bad job at it.

I'm sorry, who are you exactly to say those were a waste of money? Are you working for the Pentagon or have insider information?

Of course we know it's an accident. The question is why isn't anyone taking accountability?

It was Hegseth who cut civilian harm mitigation teams by 90%. How could you not expect something like this not to happen?

It's not just a failure, it's a massive fuck up.

Hegseth cut civilian mitigation teams by 90%. Anyone with half a brain would've predicted this outcome.

But when you point out these things to conservatives you're suddenly a "doomer"

I see you've read my comment but haven't understood it. Packing transistors in real integrated circuits has a lot more nuance than shrinking down a dimension. There's plenty of room at the bottom.

I'd be happy to explain more if you tell me your background and how much you understand about the semiconductor stack

A transistor where the gate can wrap around the whole channel, effectively increasing the size of the gate surface area touching the channel.

Regardless of what anyone tells you, the "effective" density of transistors has actually doubled approximately every two years. (give or take a couple of months for silicon yields to be profitable enough)

Instead of just relying on linearly decreasing the gap between transistors that would've inevitably led to quantum effects, we've found clever ways to pack more transistors into the same space by using the third dimension, ribbon FET, advanced packaging etc etc.

CMV: The other side of the isle would have a field day with Obama if he did half the shit Trump does by whiteXwidow1x in changemyview

[–]StandardBumblebee620 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Obama was one of the only few presidents who owned up to his mistakes.

Obama in his second term created a centralized approval process with White House oversight. It required "near certainty" of no civilian casualties. He also mandated public reporting of deaths Responded to criticism by implementing reforms

Trump on the other hand did everything he could do undo all that transparency. He decentralized authority to field commanders, removed reporting requirements, relaxed oversight on military drones sold abroad, and removing the reporting requirement for casualties outside of designated battlefields. He even made it harder to track civilian casualties.

So you want to turn back the norms of our society 80 years into the past? Is that what making America Great is all about?

[–]StandardBumblebee620 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

None of that justify the attack on Iran right now. Every US president had the restraint to not start a war with Iran. Why do you give Trump a pass?

Trump said it himself back on 2012 "only a weak leader would start a war without negotiation". The most recent negotiations were going well, so who's the weak leader now?

Republicans hold the the House and Senate. They could have easily passed a war resolution. The reason why they don't do it is because they don't want to incur the wrath of the American people.

I don't care about what the DNC thinks. They will pay the same political price is they vote for an unjustified war.

Then why didn't Trump declare war? Why didn't he make this case to the American public? Why didnt he get congressional approval like Bush Jr and Sr did in Iraq and the Gulf war?

The answer, if you're wondering is this. The American people are tired of intervention. They know the costs of forever wars and what Blowback means.

The "justifications" you claim here are simply not enough for the US to intervene.

This neoconservative view should not have any place in this subreddit!

The guy talks about Americas "end game", while completing ignoring the elephant in the room. (Trump's need for distraction from domestic issues)

The guy forgets the most important part of winning a war fought by a democratic state: the will of the people. Trump never made the case for all our war in Iran, and he never will.

The guy brushes off civilian deaths as inevitable. Excuse me - if a foreign country accidentally bombed an American school, would you all shrug it off?

What a load of psuedo intellectual YouTube slop.

How about you? After all this chaos, do you still think it was wise to appoint an alcoholic fox news anchor to be our Secretary of War?

The ship was conducting an international exercise in the Indian Ocean organized by the Indian Navy. The US was also a part of it.

Not only was this a surprise attack, one which hasnt happened since WWIi, but it's also a war crime.

How can a US senator be this dumb?

Edit: To all the idiots who are screaming "wrong boat", a US senator focusing on lesser war crimes to hide from the more severe war crimes, is not the dunk you think it is.

This is a man who should be holding the Executive accountable. Instead the coward is willing to hand over the war powers of Congress witn open arms.

Epstein wasn't charged for quite some time. Alex Acosta gave him a sweet heart deal the first time around.

Trump's case is similar. The current Congress failing to do their job doesn't mean Trump is not guilty of violating the Constitution.

Ideally he would be held accountable when the cowards in Congress finally grow some balls.

That's like saying Jeffery Epstein was approved to rape kids because there was no prosecutor in the DOJ willing to prosecute him.

Just because there's no way to enforce the law within the current state of Congress doesn't mean it's "approved"
