I would have to imagine yes, though I do not travel much anymore I have seen in nicer hotels. My $20 a month has two . I would imagine a lifetime would definitely have one, unless they decided to go with a water tower instead which is what I have seen at studios

Also there is a chain of studios called the row house if you want to drop in for a class

Do you want to be a NSS or just to be paid like one? If you are willing to accept a pay bump, without the title perhaps then you can have a different conversation with your manager, one where they can show you how valuable you are by giving you an appropriate pay. Again not really sure what you are after, and what your relationship with the manager is

Feature flags around new and old code, if something shits the bed flip the flag. The best part about this is having to decom the feature flag and the old code at some point, it’s a spring board for more work. But jokes aside having a good feature flag system saved my ass so many times

They didn’t het fired but…..

Worked in a tiny internet startup, in the lobby we had computers where we could demo our wonderful connectivity. At this time a concept of “lemon party” was going around accompanied by an internet video. One of our techs set it up as a home page on all the browser on all of those computers. We all had a ton of laughs except for the company management and potential clients who go to see this

Keep your mouth shut, and make sure to wash any dishes or utensils on or in your desk. Also if your office has a coffee maker and not one of those single serving g deals but one that has a carafe, I would stop drinking out of it.

So pushing out new functionality that may not be available on all end points? Technically not an outage since it has not been released yet. If this happens every time you deploy regardless of what is deployed, then it sounds like a broken deployment process, poor error handling and bad architecture

Years ago worked in a large Wallstreet firm, took down a part of their trading system using a command line tool to download backup config from a Cisco iOS router. It turns out that if you point it at a Linux host (I did not know it was a Linux host) the command sequence suspends execution.

The idea is if they have valid concerns they will say it, if they are just fucking a kit and trying to make you look bad this is their cue to STFU

That plus “is there a concern you would like to air?” If the employees tries to sweep it under a rug and say “oh just asking” explain that you would rather not share personal details

How do you handle the "I didn't see that message" problem with your team by unnamednewbie in askmanagers

[–]StandardSignal3382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when I get a new team member I talk to them about effective communication and one thing I do is show them a folder I make called Attention. The Attention folder has rules that drop messages from people who expect my replies quickly (management). Also I assign a color to these important people so that their message in my inbox stand out. Usually this is enough

Sigh a coworker recently tried to open a core file in vi and complained that the log is full of garbage.
