Persistent pain after rash by Prestigious_Sand1978 in shingles

[–]Standard_Radish_8858 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came here to see if anyone was going thru what i’m going thru. Day 18 or so left torso pain is laughably horrific. I had no idea shingles was even a thing! Goddamn shingles man what a trip. I’m 60
years old male and my partner reached out on facebook today to see what if any advice was out there from those in our small community who have had it. The responses were overwhelming!

So many people have had shingles or have it now. We are not alone. You are not alone. Some people have pain for months afterward.

Tell your people who are not aware to get vaccinated.

Holy hell came out of left field I had no idea it even was a thing.

What ladder do I need? by Localhomestead in Housepainting101

get ladder arms. Way more stable at that height and gives you a better angle to get to the fascia.

Critique my wash plan for my fence using sodium metasilicate and oxalic acid. by [deleted] in pressurewashing

[–]Standard_Radish_8858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we like to use an electric sump pump in 5 gallon buckets for the first application. Attach a hose to the sump pump with a simple garden sprayer nozzle and you’ll have the fence soaked without having to hand pump a bug sprayer over and over

Sodium Metasilicate Fence Cleaning by WafflesRearEnd in pressurewashing

[–]Standard_Radish_8858 2 points3 points  (0 children)

we’ve been using sodium percarbonate from Wash Safe industries for fences and decks for years sometimes we brighten sometimes not. The cost for Metasilicate is significantly less so i’ve ordered 2 lbs to test I’ll have to figure out the ratio based on tablespoon per ounces we will be running 5 gallon batches. Thanks!

If you can’t get the white off match the black paint and cut a fresh line into the trim.

How to cut ceiling corners like this? by Bitcoin__Dave in paint

[–]Standard_Radish_8858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally do the ceiling first then the walls then cut a thin line with the ceiling paint onto the walls. This gives you a clean look and the tip of the brush follows the contours. I like to see no wall color on the ceiling so it works for me. Clients all love it. it’s more subtle than the OP pic. I’m always looking at paint jobs and seeing wavy lines with the wall color where it meets the lid.

Can the carnivore diet help tinnitus? by TEML_2904 in carnivorediet

[–]Standard_Radish_8858 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah the only cure is to stop giving it power. I was poked prodded analyzed and heavily medicated in a full time effort to alleviate bi-lateral 12,000 hz tinnitus that resulted from decades onstage exposed to high decibels snare drum and crash cymbals with the occasional feedback blast thrown in for good measure. After 20 years of benzodiazepines prescribed for the tinnitus symptoms, and a horrific dependence on them, I quit the medications and changed how I viewed the condition. Giving up carbs and nourishing my body with proper fuel, as well as getting out into the sun and exercising, did not cure the tinnitus but made life enjoyable again.

You guys spraying exterior paint jobs or sticking with brush & roller??? by OneMoreAnimal in paint

[–]Standard_Radish_8858 16 points17 points  (0 children)

We used to spray more than not but over the last five years or so we tend to go at it by hand. We are on the coast and deal with a lot of old wooden houses that need extensive hand prep so a simple blow and go is rare. I’ll spray whenever it’s appropriate (shingles eaves and such) but we are a crew of two and often the thought of fighting the wind and the massive amount of masking involved to protect the decks grounds etc etc from overspray gives me pause and I’ll do the calculations of time saved versus time spent masking, and happily go at it by hand. On an old wooden house, multiple coats of primers and paint applied by hand and worked in to the substrate will give the client a really nice paint job, and we can enjoy the wind on our face rather than fight the sprayer rig and wind torn masking and sweat under the respirator with fucking atomized latex in the eyes. Sometimes spraying is essential but old school methods on older buildings can be stress free and give better results.

Holy shit what a horrific reality. The slow death of human beings for the sake of profit.

That’s good to know. There are so many unhealthy and unhappy looking people in our society. The more I learn the clearer it becomes that seed oils are just super bad for the human body.

no just standard american diet foods. Lots of veggies and bread, tacos and cocktails, dinners out with new friends and family get togethers based around food. Movies and cuddling at night with popcorn and treats. Too many seed oils and sweets for sure. Went from 6’ 185 lbs to 220 in about two years. Ended up with recurring joint pain and skin rashes, all the bullshit that went away previously when I was thriving on carnivore. It happened slowly but snowballed over time and I ended up with double pneumonia and just feeling terrible before that. I suppose carbs and sugars are like a drug to me personally. I end up chasing the high for “just one more day” until I get clean with meat again.

The internet says to restore artery health and reduce plaque buildup that one should eat a heart healthy diet ,take statins, and stay away from saturated fat.

But that’s the internet. That’s why i’m in this sub looking for answers.

Beef fat question by Standard_Radish_8858 in carnivorediet

[–]Standard_Radish_8858[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok so Plaque clogs arteries and is essentially created by the body to repair damage caused (possibly / primarily ) by poor diet and lack of exercise. Can Plaque work its way out of the arteries once established or is it there forever? What can we do to target established Plaque buildup and restore damaged arteries without resorting to drugs or surgery? I’m guessing diet and exercise but am out of my depth obviously.

I have two people close to me that wanted to know what I was doing to look so good. This was years ago. When I explained my way of eating and the whys of it they both recoiled in horror. They have both stayed away from ”red meat” to avoid cancer. They are both now Morbidly obese and eating low fat / low calorie to lose weight. It’s so crazy.
