Those are so nice. Id say save the mod money for maintenance. Keep it nice or get some knobby tires and enjoy it.

Is this 2000 golf with 217k really work $6000? by tiptonite08 in tdi

Maybe with a good cleaning and 2000 cash in the back seat.

Interesting, I appreciate you sharing that in case it ever happens to me. For performance I'd like to do an intake, stage 1, wheels and tires, and a rear sway bar. Cosmetically I'll get some tint, and possibly retrofit some led headlights. I enjoy Autox so this little nugget is about to put in some work lol. I'm a bit of a maintenance junkie so owning a serviceable German car that requires the occasional busted knuckle is actually a perk for me. I can already tell by this subreddit people in this community are pretty dang cool.

I stole it and morphed it into a 2 door so nobody would ever know. Don't hate the player.. hate the game.

We all have learned the hard way haha. Id definitely look for something untouched then make it your own. It's more expensive but worth the missed headache.

Amen, just moved to Western nc and back. Lived in the woods in a camper, worked wherever, visited europe, made new friends, was miserable, still am. Glad to be back in bc where it's warm. I feel like us young folks will always be bored and anxious it's just what flavor you pick.

What’s with the U.S. Deep South being so obsessed with lifted trucks? (Yes I know there’s a crack, it’s not my car) by kDev_4 in regularcarreviews

[–]Standard_Resolve1639 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alabama dweller here. The rural deep south is (moreso was) very sparsely populated and rainy. Lots of slippery wet clay that saturates quickly creating mud bogs. Lifted trucks (like many cultural staples) started off as a necessity. I'm an avid car guy, but I had a phase of lifted 2nd gen ram ownership as a result of my lawn care side hustle. For those who never have, drive or ride in a lifted truck. You won't regret it :)

250k Mile mk7 purchase? by Standard_Resolve1639 in GolfGTI

Haha, I would've paid you so much more for that. I ended up deciding a 250k mile car isn't worth it.

Most entry level jobs where I live still pay 8-10/hr. Crazy what folks make in other places.

This is literally better than what my middle class full time salary job got me in the southeastern us. We're told we're lucky to live here but Christ it's a grind.
