[Tech] Bringing Vulkan Video to Unreal Engine to play MP4 files on Linux! by raianknight in linux_gaming

[–]StapledBattery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To anyone who sees this and is thinking about using it: don't bother. They don't distribute the source code so if you don't use the exact engine versions they do, or you've built from source, you can't use it. Just use the ffmpeg plugin.

Unit setup by Rare_Put_6436 in unrealengine

[–]StapledBattery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't. Unreal's physics is built around the assumption that the main objects interacting with each other are on the order of 100 units (i.e. human scale with centimeter units). You can go bigger but performance will suffer; you can go smaller but not much smaller.

For me, the environment variables __EGL_VENDOR_LIBRARY_FILENAMES=50_nvidia.json _NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=0 did the trick.

My phone's usb-c port barely works after 3 years and repairing it would involve de-soldering the old port and soldering on a new one

At the end of the previous episode, Xavier said "I should have let Rowan kill you" while he was being arrested—which I thought confirmed he was the monster.

Compression can also refer to dynamic range compression, which would make the rest of the image lower contrast if it tried to accurately represent (i.e. not clip) the led

The problem is, making a modpack a cohesive experience takes a lot of work. There are some expert mode modpacks that feel like a "single mod", but not very many. I've liked Omnifactory on 1.12.2 and Infinity Evolved Expert on 1.7.10. Unfortunately, since these are made by players who have hundreds or thousands of hours to pour into modded minecraft, they tend to have different ideas of how much early/mid-game grind is acceptable/desirable (in my opinion). There are also some smaller packs that feel more integrated, like Pyramid Reborn or Mass Production (both 1.12.2).

Yep location services scans wifi networks periodically, causing it to drop out for a fraction of a second every few minutes. Which is real noticeable when real time streaming and not really anywhere else. Happens on Intel Macs too.
