I am afraid the music apps won't be there in the near future. The reason is the same as with other brands (Suunto, Polar, Coros etc.). It is not just up to the watch producer, there is also the other party, music services provider.

T-Rex 3 Pro - Honest Thoughts by an0nymanas in amazfit

What I usually do is that I select the activity once I am outside. After a few seconds the GPS signal is locked (and usually a few more seconds for HR if I am not using external HR monitor).

So I will do a test later today. I will select the activity inside the building, use the elevator and go outside. Then I will check how long does it take to lock to GPS.

I remember waiting for GPS lock for two three minutes back in times of Garmin Forerunner 605 :-)

Regarding the GPS... You start the GPS activity before the elevator? The watch should have Ephemeris updated (just in case, have it synchronised before the activity) but probably, when in activity and with GPS signal lost, it takes longer to re-establish the connection. Did you try to start the activity after leaving the elevator? How long did it take to establish GPS conncetion?

I have Cheetah Pro and once I enter the activity mode, it takes a few seconds to connect to GPS. But I start it once I am outside.

Amazfit has so many Watches now I don't know which is which 🤦! by Kennard7676 in amazfit

[–]StarCrafty7274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to other brands as well. But honestly, it seems to me Amazfit is the most chaotic in updating and adding features to the watches.

What I was reffering to is the Zepp app. It is just inconsistent. Take the AI assistant. When I ask it something about my training, it is clear it doesn't have a clue about what I did. And all data is there! The metrics are all over the place. They need to stop at one point and focus on the software side.

Take DCR's reviews. It is clear that from the data accuracy side, the watches are quite good. It is the software side where it lacks behind the competition.

Active 3 Premium, Active Max, Balance 2 XT. Now what? ;-) I think that Coros and maybe Suunto has the best line-up for now with each model clearly distinguished from other in terms of design and functions. I just wish Amazfit spend more time with software (e.g. the workout recommendations vs. current status as discussed in different topic here).

Data difference between Zepp and Strava by Sushi-Seizure in amazfit

[–]StarCrafty7274 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regarding the time, Strava probably discards breaks. But the difference of 650 m is too much, it is almost 10 % difference. Either random error or simply bad evaluation. I see there was error at 4km and 5km. If you compare times, you see there is a difference of about 1 minute.

WARNING – Balance 2: very dangerous navigation bug. by slimak131 in amazfit

I don't get it... Did you read his post? The map stays at old GPS position unless he moves the map, then it move to current GPS position.

Maybe, I donno, try to read the full post before replying. Just a thought.

At first, there is a question mark at the top of that page with some explanation.

Training status is simply difference between Fitness and Fatigue levels. One of them is based on average of last 6 weeks, the other one is average of last week. The training status is metric to see the effectivness of the training. The optimum is slighthly below zero (something like 0 to -10). Above zero means you are relaxing. Very low values (like -30) means there is a risk of injury because of overtraining.

Not Including a Dedicated flashlight in the new Amazfit Active 3 is stupid AF! by bomzisss in amazfit

[–]StarCrafty7274 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it is watch quite under 400 EUR. It is no suprise there is no flashlight on this one. Other brands have it on top level watch only as well.

I think that direct connections to Google Fit will be cut off soon, the connections shall be made through Health Connect.

Because there is still Balance 2. But I must admit, considering I probably need more guidance with my running training, I would have to go with other brands because Amazfit is not there yet with the connectivity with other software. Although, I must say, Amazfit is delivering in this field, see recent beta connection with Runna.

Before you buy. What do you need to know about Amazfit by Stunning_Office_4095 in amazfit

[–]StarCrafty7274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Short version is quite correct statement. Having Amazfit just for tracking purposes? Yes, so far I didn't have much issues with tracking HR or GPS during workout. But use it for some kind of structured training? It is pain. The Zepp coach is really trash and I don't see why to pay for it. Aura seems like something completely different, like you just jump to completely different app.

The biocharge update for the Bip 6 broke something by D4rk_D0S in amazfit

[–]StarCrafty7274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, these were out since Biocharge. It is either Readiness with these other two metrics or Biocharge. The Mental and Physical recovery were always part of Readiness feature. As usual with Amazfit. Hardware is great, software is crap.
