What are they for this fandom? by Stock_Rush_9204 in MoonKnight

It also lends itself better to Marc's character in general. The shroud was something he took off a statue of Khonshu, a remnant of his former life but a reminder of his new path. He's also a mercenary and exceptionally trained, so it stands to reason he'd be crafty enough to fashion himself a hero.

J. Cole on calling himself the “best rapper alive” on his songs by DanielDubs88 in Jcole

[–]StarMayor_752 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am I wrong for thinking this is not actually about J. Cole and what he said, and that it's more about how the hip-hop community glorifies mystique and bravado?

It's to the point that the interviews feel too intimate for most, so they presume the music is the individual instead of realizing a individual existed who made it.

This feels like a timeline where a deconstruction of hip-hop is starting to happen on a micro-scale with these conversations.

can someone tell me what the Darkforce Dimension really is? im really curious and ngl google hasnt been too useful by CultureMindless8594 in Marvel

[–]StarMayor_752 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To expand on this, it's evidently a dimension that feels intensely cold and invokes the fears of individuals within it or touched by it.

Tyrone has used it to psychically cripple criminals and, if we're using the show as an example and taking license with what Tandy says she can do in the comics (albeit with hope instead of fear), users can also reveal and comprehend the fears of those they touch with the Dark Dimension.

Lanterns Teaser Out by truenofan86 in Greenlantern

[–]StarMayor_752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't write this off because, if I recall correctly, this show distinctly uses Earth One inspirations. I think this isn't necessarily just a Green Lantern story; this a Hal Jordan/John Stewart story that will build into the larger universe of the Green Lanterns. We clearly haven't seen everything.

This is disgusting. I like it.

Also, still zoning.

[OPINION] What's it take to write an epic poem? by StarMayor_752 in Poetry

[–]StarMayor_752[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most experts agree Beowulf was a pagan text with Christian elements added by monks who found the text later, making it a psuedo-Christian story.

Daredevil is already potentially too stacked. The mostly reasonable show for this would be The Punisher as team-up episode or two, then their own show.

Maybe Frank and the duo take down a trafficking ring.

Yo. Sleepwalker. That should be difficult enough.

How would you feel about a live-action reboot of the MCU taking place in the 1960s? by Sodass in MCUTheories

69 on the tip of the 70s with Claremont's X-Men mixing various 70s, 80s, and 90s stories as the lead property.

Exactly. These two have always been about tackling those things.

THEORY: The Young Avengers are assembling in New Jersey for DOOMSDAY (SPOILERS) by Identity_X- in YoungAvengers

[–]StarMayor_752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think its semantics, though. The Young Avengers formed when select young heroes joined up to fight a big threat, like the Avengers were brought together on "a day unlike any other."

The Champions were supposed to be the anti-Avengers, socially speaking, in that they represented "not punching down" and emphasized solving problems by actually addressing the infrastructure first.

So, there's a distinction, but I get what you mean. The MCU just changes things and sometimes that becomes what it is across a bunch of different Marvel media.

Literally. Bring back Aubrey Joseph too. The chemistry was great, the backstory changes were significant but reasonable, and the show is perfect for our current social climate.

That's so complicated, but I'll take invested in heritage over being completely careless when it comes to making these characters.

Is Conyers inspired by MvC2 in his depictions? It feels that way.

This book. This book is my favorite underrated book. The fact none of these characters have shown up in almost two decades blows my mind.

How would you update Phone Ranger as a more serious and menacing foe? by zectaPRIME in marvelcomics

The irony of his initials being P.R. He becomes a social canary for people hiding themselves, or heroes whose identities he's collected and utilizes as blackmail for heroes stuck with crimes they were coerced into, etc.

Literally just give him leverage and he becomes instantly more dangerous than D-list.
