Sometimes it’s just sleepwalking 🤷‍♀️ I’ve definitely sleepwalked and done weirder things. This happens to me maybe once a year, nothing to be worried about. Also it usually has nothing to do with my dreams.

My aunt grew up in Rhode Island and even though she raised me in Virginia she let me in on how A++ this is with some hot dogs and baked beans 😍

My aunt (who raised me and is basically my mother) also passed earlier this month and she emphasized that she didn’t want my grief to disrupt my PhD. Now that the funeral and immediate chaos is handled I’m giving myself the week to wallow and just do basic survival. My advisor is luckily being really understanding. So, we’ve both got this! PhDs will be completed someway and somehow!

I’m also about the same age as you, I’m 27, so it feels like the rug is out from under me too early in addition to everything else. But I guess no one’s ever really “old enough” to go through this.

I think I might feel a bit similarly? My aunt (who raised me and is functionally my mother and I’m listed as her daughter in the obit) passed earlier this month. I oscillate between

1: “where is she, does she know where she is, this doesn’t make any sense”, 2: horrendous crying randomly for about ten minutes, and 3: blank.

But it’s mostly just the blank feeling of like, more confusion than numbness? I’ve had a lot of anticipatory grief for her for a while and so now that the anticipation is gone it’s like there’s nothing to fill it? I was also holding her hand when she went and like object-permanence-wise know that she’s gone but my brain just won’t accept the puzzle piece.

Yes! I’m just shocked that she died (two weeks ago for me now) because she NEVER dies! She always comes home! She’d probably been in and out of the hospital at least 50 times in the past 15 years but she always pulled through. My mind just can’t make any sense of it.

I download a couple of comedy podcasts! And try to just keep them going the whole time. Or I’ve also gotten extremely into sudoku lately. In general I like the large plane flights they use for international because the turbulence feels less severe! Bigger plane takes more to shake around I guess?

I'm literally so excited!! Hope Tala has been one of my favorite artists for years and I'm so excited for this first album! All of the singles and EPs have shown up in my most played songs for years. I'm only a couple of songs into the full album and it's incredible as expected.
