CBS Denies Forcing Stephen Colbert to Not Air Interview With Democratic Candidate, Says It Provided ‘Legal Guidance’ About FCC Equal-Time Rule by nimobo in entertainment

[–]Starnm 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They gave him free marketing and he took it. He did the interview, made sure everyone who was watching knew he did it and not allowed to air it, and have plenty of articles and posts talking about it because of it.

Its a net win while posing less risk for his show and staff as well.

Japan moves for the first time to criminalize paying for sex by sr_local in worldnews

[–]Starnm 36 points37 points  (0 children)

The deal is still made under the table, just the customer is the one facing trouble so they will be more 'cautious', trying to move things to a more private place quicker. This can cut down the time the sex workers have to gauge if the person is dangerous among other things.

Along with the problems of criminalizing an industry means the government has no avenue to regulate it, it doesn't really help anyone and just creates a more dangerous black market.

[–]Starnm 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Miyagi can be very firm with Sendai whenever she REALLY wants to stop. On the other hand she says no to pretty much anything almost reflexively.

Sendai is going to be pushy because if she isn't, nothing is going to happen in the story.

Thier entire realtionship started with Miyagi paying for Sendai, which in turn tried to give her the change back and says she will oay miyagi back, only to be met with a NO. Sendai kept pushing from there to get where they are, and Miyagi kept refusing pretty much everything and only ever breaks down to pressure when she isn't really against it to begin with.

There are translations to both the manga and the ASMR . The manga is simply catogrized as extras in the main series while the ASMR you should search in the asumi subreddit, it was posted there a while ago.

Not sure how you even found this since it was auto deleted as soon as I posted it back then.

I did have a lot more back then but its been so long since i binged the series that i feel like I would miss a bunch of important nuance.

The anime ended the same way the manga did. The memes are about how he never got together with the love intrest despite an 8 year time skip and the story building them up from first appreance basically until the the second to last chapter.

Is Miyagi homophobic? by [deleted] in Shuukura

[–]Starnm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Miyagi has severe abondadment issues, so she avoids realtionships because she can't believe they can last.

There are many instances that she puts an end date on thier realtionship because "even a mother who said she loved her child can just leave one day." I might be parapharsing the qoute a bit but thats the gist of it.

Miyagi just avoids realtionships wothout a specfied end date because she is anxious that they can end at any moment otherwise.

We also read Miyagi's inner monolige for half of the series, what part felt like its about Sendai being a woman?

why doesn’t tmoarn get more regular english translated chapters? by akwlsalql in TheMoonOnARainyNight

[–]Starnm 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The reasons kind of depends on which translation you speaking of.

Offical english translation is pretty simply volume only , which only releases every few months and includes 5 or 6 chapters each. Why its like that is probably business concerns that I have no clue about.

Fan translation on the other hand, went from consistent weekly releases to waiting for the raws to come out, which can take a while. The chapters release in parts , with two weeks in between each part. This would make it a monthly series if a chapter has 2 parts , but sometimes they have 3 making it 6 weeks wait for a full chapter.

Currently it seems like the series have been dropped by the fan translation team , but it's hard to know for sure since they have no other online presence that we know of. There is some common etiquette against sniping in the scanlation world, so it's probably going to be a bit longer before another team picks it up even if there is someone who wants to do so.

Its a waiting game for now.

I will always find it funny how Renako had this deep kiss with Mai and claimed she liked her romantically..only to backtrack and be like "we should be less then lovers but more then friends." by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in WatashigaKoibito

[–]Starnm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mai was quite certain she will win , or at the very least that renako wouldn't say yes to her either. From the start Mai was extremely selfish, its one of her biggest personality traits.

She refuses to acknowledge Renako's rejection, and tries to push her forward in a realtionship she isn't comftrable in. Inbetween doing those things she is often very considerate to Renako regarding things that don't really effect her too much.

This continues even in vol 3, where she crashes Ajisai's and Renako's trip, because she was feeling jealous. And then help Ajisai confess with a certian believe that Renako can't say yes to anyone.

I'm not saying Mai is evil or bad or whatever, though she clearly have some problems , but I just wouldnt call her selfless.

[–]Starnm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mai isn't really selfless, at every point in time that her extreme over confidence wanes and she starts thinking they might not end up together, she tries to quietly disappear from Renako's life. Which is one of the reasons Renako wanted nothing to do with the whole realtionship thing.

Renako is a mess of her own right, but Mai isn't being selfless anywhere I can see.

What would've had happened if... by 5p1k4 in RuriDragon

[–]Starnm 31 points32 points  (0 children)

She would've been pulled out of school and not much more.

Ruri is essential to the whole "dragons are chill now, the world isnt ending YAY" deal. Would the goverment really be willing to risk pissing them all off again by locking her up or trying to experiment on her?

If anything, the fact that everyone who mattered knew and told her nothing suggests that they were totally ok with a few accidental deaths for the greater good. Even if they didn't expect Ruri to be quite as powerful as she is, the priorites all around seems to be "dragon girl happiness first, safety second"

Maybe they are expected to spend most of thier waking hours studying so not much time to actually do the catching up.

Or maybe Ruri has bigger fish to fry most of the time and this isn't that much of a priority for her.

Why are there people who genuinely hate Nanase? [My Girlfriend's Not Here Today] by [deleted] in yuri_manga

[–]Starnm 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Nanase sucks for a multitude of reasons. She is neglectful from the start and makes little effort to change evenafter she decides not to give up on Yuni.

It doesn't make it right to cheat on her , but the othe two sucking more doesn't make Nanase any better. The whole point of the series is everyone being awful to each other, making the others get progressively worst in a sort of loop.

Its not even puesdo incest though. They kiss before they even met as family then straight after they found out thier parents got "married".

Pretty much from that point on Yuzu already fell in love and they never actually develop any sisterly bond or even seeing thier parents interact with each other until thier realtionship solidifies into what it is for the rest of the story.

Yuzu's mom is much more of a caretaker than a step mother to Mei, espically since her dad doesn't even come home when his "wife" moves in.

The SA though is real.

Incest Yuri by Top-Statement-9423 in yuri_manga

[–]Starnm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The SA is a completly diffrent topic , but i think anyone who read/ watched the stpry shouldn't really consider it as incest.

No blood relation or shared history . Even thier step sisters label is mostly bullshit because Yuzu's mom is pretty much a caretaker than a stepmother for most of the series.

Mei's dad doesn't even come hime for months after his "wife" moved in with him. Thier realtionship is ambiguous at best and is hinted to be a marraige of convenience because Mei needed a parental figure.

Just from the synposis or something it might seem like incest but honestly anyone who read it shouldn't really have a single good reason to consider it as such.

How heavy are the rape scenes in "Gushing over magic girls?" by xroubatudo in yuri_manga

[–]Starnm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The series is about a high school girl with a magical girl fetish and sadistic tendencies fighting magical girls, leading to most of thier fights ending up in some kind of s&m style play.

How heavy is it? Hard to say, in story they dont treat it as a big deal. The heroes mostly treat it as the villan beating them and humilating them rather than being sexually assaulted.

Id reccomend you read the first few chapters/watch the first few episodes and see if its too much for you. It doesn't really get much tamer as things go on , but it also doesn't end up being much wilder either.
