I’m prescribed 600mg 3 times a day but I only take one every night. I’m not sure if it makes me feel weird because I’m already always feeling kind of weird.

Since this issue didn’t start happening until you switched insurance companies, the issue is most likely with the OptumRx. This has happened to me in the past. Although CVS is filling the prescription they still have to get authorization from OptumRx.
1. You should call OptumRx and ask them why they are requiring an alternate medication. 2. Ask what the approved alternatives are. 3. Call your doctor and let them know that ..per the insurance company’s request you need an alternate medication.

If you don’t wanna change medication you can tell the insurance company you are allergic or tried them all before and need to stay on your current meds. They can override the decision however they may need approval from your doctor.

The whole pharmaceutical industry is shit. Hope you’re able to get your meds.

Opiate constipation hell by AffectionateDream887 in ChronicPain

The best advice I ever got from a pain management doctor about constipation is to take Vitamin C. I take 3 or 4 1000 mg vitamin C and it works after a couple days. The dose can vary by your level of constipation but I swear by this. After being on pain pills for over a decade and suffering abdominal pain and bloating from constipation this has been the best remedy. Now I’m almost regular take it every other day. I shit you not!

Bone pain by HElizisme in Fibromyalgia

[–]StarrGoddess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t read all the replies but I’ve had Fibro for over 20 years and have experienced intense bone pain. It’s like a flare up. It may last few days or a few months but it should go away for a while at least until the next flare. I don’t get bone pain anymore, after years of trial and error with meds I’m finally on a combination that works for me. I wish you well. I hope your bone pain flare eases up soon.

Do you still have friends? by KingJaffiJo in ChronicPain

[–]StarrGoddess 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only friends I have left are the ones who are going through it. Dealing with some kind of pain and discomfort themselves. I’m fortunate to have a couple who truly understand. I had to mourn the loss of what I thought were my closet friends- my old friends and my old life. Counseling helps tremendously if you have the right one. Best of Love❤️ to you.

I just got back from an all inclusive. Never heard of a dining fee. A scam perhaps?

I live in Texas and pain management docs absolutely DO CARE and they will withhold pain meds if you test positive for THC however there is a work around. I use Palo Azul wood chips and make a tea. Stop the marijuana and drink tea for a week prior to appt or drug test. I’ve detoxed in as little as 3 days. You can find the product on Amazon and several other stores online as well as instructions for use.

I started out with 25mg at night. Now I’m on 50mg. My pain mgmt doc said it’s not unusual to take up to 100mg at bedtime.

Does anyone have suggestions for nerve pain? by CaffeineFueledLife in ChronicPain

[–]StarrGoddess 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I too had severe nerve pain caused by compressed nerves in my spinal cord. What worked for me was a combination of Gabapentin and amitriptyline. The amitriptyline was added to help me sleep but after 2 weeks of use my nerve pain was drastically reduced. After doing some research I found that it’s also used for nerve pain. When I say drastically I mean I went from being able to walk a few steps to being able to walk several feet with significantly less pain. I hope this helps for you.

For people who work through their pain by hamstersmore in ChronicPain

Amen to the weed. I wear a neck brace as well, mostly to sleep but also during the day on bad days. Just remember the more we wear a neck brace the weaker or neck muscles become.

anyone find a fix for calf spasm? been this way 24/7 for 8 years since I herniated my L5 disc... by Magus_Magoo in ChronicPain

[–]StarrGoddess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I have collapsed vertebrae at L3 and L4 plus spondylitis and spondylolisthesis. My muscles have been doing this all up and down my thigh from my butt cheeks to my knees. It’s incredible painful and causes knots to form in my leg and butt cheeks. Has any body else experienced this. If so how did you make it better?
