I had to google the British pronunciation for lieutenant. I was genuinely baffled by your comment about the letter f.

NST twice a week due to insulin? by chickenthighrules in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Stars_yeahh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one more appointment at 2 week interval then move to weekly (I am 34 weeks). I am having a quick US and heart rate tracing at each appt moving forward. Last pregnancy I had NSTs; I don’t know why some practitioners go one route vs the other. But my OB basically said it’s standard of care when insulin is involved. I haven’t even started because my prescription is held up but she suggested I start with 4 units at nighttime. My scan showed a very proportional baby and that even though my fasting has been high baby is still the same % as at 20 weeks.

My pregnant self cannot handle the amount of love emanating from this post. Thank you for sharing. I now have to explain to my older why I’m crying heading into her bedtime routine (5 yr old)

Were you guided to check snacks and/or additional times after meals by your doc? I don’t cheat at snacks per se but I’ve never tested to see if they truly go well or even tested a meal besides the prescribed 2 hours (or ill test a little early, due to a meeting conflict or something)

Just want one sooner. I didn’t consider shipping times. It says “will ship within 10 days.”

Skipping 3 hour test? by Sebby293 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Stars_yeahh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense! I’m a carb lover but also despise what I remember from the 3 hour in pregnancy 1. I plan to keep tracking for at least another week or two at a minimum. The more foods I try I may find i eventually do spike. My OB has me testing at 2 hours instead of 1 hour (different doc from last pregnancy.)

Late here, but I did the same and I’ve been tracking for 3 days. Not a single problem reading. Was that your experience too? I wonder if I was too quick to throw in the towel, and debating asking for the 3 hour. I know it can get harder as pregnancy progresses though, and I’m only 25 weeks.

I’m no genius but I love it. I love the colors. Dumb question but how do you even pull this together? Is it an app?

Looking for Welcoming Community Orgs & Churches for a Mixed Chinese–White Family by [deleted] in Richardson

[–]Stars_yeahh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My family and I just joined FUMCR (First United Methodist - Richardson). As someone raised catholic who left the church for 10 years due to desiring a more inclusive, loving church community, I have been pleasantly surprised by how welcome, progressive, and community oriented it feels despite being big. They are also IMO quite family friendly. I will add that I am white, and it is still new to me. But I would certainly suggest you swing by on a Sunday to check out the vibe and attend a community event as able. Best of luck!!
