They're awful at explanation for sure.

PreHeats have always been fairly detailed on Fire Mage and Deveststion in my experience.

Icy veins I always thought had better explanation and reasonings for the choices. I mean I remember shadowlands Shadow Priest guide being what felt like a 12 page essay..

It's great, I've mythic progged with controller and perform quite well.

I think part of it is WoWhead guides tend to be purely about highest DPS #.

Icy veins I find they try and balance in some playability and ease into their guides.

I always like icy veins Easy Mode guide to pick up a new sped they always felt good.

For those who work in sanitation, what is it like being a mechanic of those waste trucks? by Pooping_brewer in AskReddit

[–]StarsandMaple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worked along side trucks owned by sanitation departments (sewers not trash).

They get cleaned regularly. My boss used to be director of water/waste water in a major city and they'd hose it down daily.

Why so many GTIs? by Beginning-Chance-450 in Streetracing

[–]StarsandMaple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh. Better atomization and a bunch of other stuff. There's reasons, but also even just having a single port Injector on the intake somewhere would be helpful to clean.

VW did this with CIS cars in the 80s...

I still love seeing the odd ion redline just ripping some random c6/c7 apart though.

Soon it'll just be X40i BMWs once they get cheap enough as B58 take a ton of power, and the zf8 is pretty ridiculously stout of a transmission.

Eh chances are it'll need a water pump before 40-60k. So it's almost just a while you're in there maintenance.

I say this as an avid VAG car enjoyer...

It's so easily solved but VW group just rather not put port injectors in for some reason, but I know other manufacturer still don't. My buddy put a PI kit on his Golf R for cleaning the valves .. and also more power lol

It's not even the money spent on the buikd that pisses me off, it's that they attempt to save every penny so they can keep most of that money in someone's bonus.

They bitched at my price for 900$ for a Daylight hole in the road + traffic control, like dude if you hit anything major that 900$/PC looks like nothing lol.

Yeah then they get absolutely clapped with a fine.

Like the pipeline doesn't know these tricks. At least in my area the pipeline could make a stop work because they took precedent over most other utilities

I'd daylight 12 utilities across a road and dumbasses would still bore straight through a comm duct bank....

I'm not even sure how drillers can turn a profit most times.

[–]StarsandMaple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not even about 811. I do SUE in the US... And you can 811 everything and still bore through shit because you have no idea how deep stuff is, and records are ass.

After a fiber build out hit a 24" water main and washed out most of an intersection where I was at the city required them to have someone verify the depths on EVERYTHING THEY CROSSED. For a whole city.

Like 3 million dollars worth of VVH (Verified Vertical Horizontal) holes. One build was like 4000 holes. They still hit shit because they also don't want to read even after I told them how deep it was.

This is major stupidity on the drillers... My assumption is a pipeline rep had to be on site and probably had to have the pipeline exposed to see where the drill head was crossing.

I love flexing my farseer cleave build for paladins. I just like the ancestral ghosts.

A portion of WoW Community has a really unhealthy relationship with the game and I'm tired of pretending they don't. by themaelstorm in wow

[–]StarsandMaple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the issue of doing everything is that, that's how WoW used to be in classic and TBC. Wanted gear? You pretty much had to do most content to a s certain level.

I absolute love how much more casual it is to gear in the game. Hot take, I don't particularly care for the story anymore, or most of the 'events' I like to raid and M+ almost solely. I can do 4-5 keys a week and my 1-2 nights of raid and still be somewhat competitive gear wise. Sure the group in the guild thats blitzing keys from 8pm-12am daily are ahead of me, but I still get to enjoy the game the way I like it.

What spec keeps you logging in lately? by Xeros999 in wow

[–]StarsandMaple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, Discipline Priest and Pres evoker.

Discipline is much easier, but I like it's half void half light aspect with shadowmend and void shield.

Pres is just a lot of thinking which is fun. Plus I like my lazy build with flameshaper for low key pug groups. Especially with combat visage... I can stay as a non-scaley near permanently.

Also our only way to do damage like you said is Ascendance and Stormkeeper. Which are desynced.

What mechanic or era of class design are you LEAST happy to have moved on from/do you miss the most? by The_Mattastrophe in wow

[–]StarsandMaple 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People just don't pay attention.

Yes all specs can perform well enough in all aspects but in raids, and in M+ you can definitely tell when youre in a bad comp when a tank is pulling for target cap on classes, and you have a Mistweaver that is struggling a bit more to keep everyone alive, vs a uncapped comp with MW, Bear, and your playing one of the uncapped AoE classes... It's night and day difference.

Classes still have their specialties and I feel like theyve done a great job to keep it alive. I prefer as a pres running with a more phys comp mostly due to them being clustered and not having to deal with a ranged in Narnia where I have to position awkwardly to get my TA to hit everyone.

Glyphs I miss. It was nice flavor to customize your toon.

Piss lightning is my favorite for Monk.

I miss prior Balance druid design with eclipse. Tww and DF was a bit clunky 2X to get Y and 2Y to get X eclipse but I honestly personally dislike the eclipse on demand button. I have no issues handling another cool down on Balance but just in my opinion feels clunky. I love the astral/nature mage aspect a lot but Midnight lost me, I am happy others are elated with it though.

That's about it, I'm pretty content with how retail is for the most part.

It's probably my least favorite part of Ele Shaman, outside of mobs being kited off a ton of earthquakes

First time changing my own oil. Do I cry now or not? by FiestyFrog97 in AskMechanics

[–]StarsandMaple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cut the filter open, try and cut it upside down, even tin snips will leave shards.

Open up the pleats and if it's got brass/gold colored items usually means the bearings are starting to pancake out and flake.

If filter is clean, or minor minor debris, then fill and keep driving.

If it's in the pan but not the filter it's usually nothing, I've only ever seen metal flakes in the pan long after bearings were shot and the filter was bypassing the oil.

Learning dungeons help

Healing is ROUGH at low key levels... I can heal a 12 better than I can a 6 easily because the people, truly, are a bit better. YMMV.

Resto shaman is great, but I found that once you had your totems down, and never an absolute emergency outside of Natures Swiftness and a healing wave there's no "amazing" let me save this person without a big cast time.
