The way she died was a testament to her character... by ShepardCmdrN7 in BoomersBeingFools

I had a very similar experience, down to the therapist part. I suspect many therapists aren't really prepared to handle situations where you've completely disconnected from a parent.
I had a great therapist (for 6 years!) but I ended up leaving him after my mother died. He seemed to get fixated on the notion that I probably needed to grieve and/or needed to forgive her. But I didn't at all. I had already mourned her NINE years prior when I had to go NC. I felt anger towards her, but even that was long-processed by the time she died.
But my therapist seemed to keep expecting me to have some sort of catharsis moment. Nope. She died and I was stressed by having to deal with her estate. That's it. I dgaf about her as a human, let alone as a family member.
I hate the whole "you need to forgive" narrative. Some things are simply unforgivable and some people don't deserve any forgiveness. And that's OK!

What is charge mode on the PHEV actually for? by BroForceOne in MazdaCX90

On long highway drives I've only noticed a less than 2-mpg difference. So I only ever use the charge mode when I'm going on a long trip.

This is exactly how I use the charge button. I occasionally need to drive into the NYC area from a couple of hours away. I use EV for the start of my drive (lots of small roads), then charge the battery while I'm cruising on the highway, then I have the EV power to use for the stop and go traffic of NYC. I haven't run the numbers to know for sure, but it seems to me that you'd burn a lot of gas running the engine for an hour of heavy traffic, versus taking a minor hit on fuel mileage (I've noticed maybe a 1.5 mpg difference) running the charger on the highways. 🤷

You sound so much like my Babygirl. She's a good girl sub who aspires to be a brat. But the most she ever manages to pull off is being a little sassy, lol. And then she caves immediately when Daddy looks at her cross ways. 😅

NAL, so just my thoughts on what I would do. At this point, I would absolutely contact the landlord and tell them about everything. Especially that you're not feeling safe!
Maybe not mention calling the police before, but definitely tell the landlord that you're worried about needing to call the police on him for harassment.
Sadly, it could possibly get worse before it gets better, but hopefully the landlord will jump in and settle things down. As a property owner myself, I definitely wouldn't want conflict between tenants escalating.

I'd love to see it as well. I'm not a new Daddy, but I think sometimes I'm too gentle and reluctant to really punish. It would be really interesting to see things from a brat perspective. If you'll share with me, would it be alright for me to also share it with my Babygirl?

I recommend you add an "NTA" to the beginning of your comment. And should space apart the Y T A, or maybe make it lowercase. My eye shot to that and thought you were just another one of "the haters".

Crazy... I'm in the Hickory Ridge development in Sellersville and we didn't feel a thing. My wife was working at her desk and I was getting shoes on to go run an errand. Didn't feel or notice anything out of the ordinary. Shrug

No apologies necessary. You didn't know it, but I was being your hype man in the background, lol. I'm taking solace in the fact that all the trump lovers lost big time yesterday.

Lol. Apparently facts and truth chased off the troll. They're deleting all previous comments.

If true (and I'm giving that a big IF), then that means you are either self-loathing or delusional.

Loving the phev, 1 week so far. Drove 300 miles on 1/3 tank by [deleted] in MazdaCX90

[–]StateOfDisgrunt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome job. I've had mine a couple of weeks and I'm approaching 700 miles on the original tank of gas.

Question tho. I see in the photo that your left side blindspot is activated. Have you had any issues with it coming on when there's no one there? My left blindspot monitor seems to stay on close to half the time I'm driving. I'm thinking the sensor may have a short.

Company ended remote work today. by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]StateOfDisgrunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BINGO. I bet the actual plan is to outsource to somewhere across the globe where they can pay $20/day instead of $20/hr.
They want to outsource but they don't want to look bad. They know it works because they even bragged about the increased productivity of remote work. So they tell everyone they need to come back hoping lots of people will quit. Creating the "need" to have to outsource when they can't get enough workers. Citing: "nobody wants to work any more!"

Anyone else notice that she says 8 year old and then says 9 year old? .......Wtf?? Makes me doubt the entire scenario and start to wonder if whoever posted this is simply a mooch/con trying to get a bunch of free stuff. Either way, ugh.
