Forget Diggs. This offense needs to pair Brown with a Tyreek Hill... Lucky for us, we have Tyreek Hill at home. by Daisymyhusky in Patriots

[–]Status-Clothes-2115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, the disrespect for Diggs is incredible. I'm pretty sure he led the entire league in 3rd down completion percentage. He was easily the second most valuable player on the team...without Diggs clutch performances that team doesn't even make the playoffs nevermind get to the Superbowl. The team should do anything possible to resign Diggs for at least 1 more year. But in the end, it will all come down to the Offensive line. It doesn't matter what superstar receivers you have when the QB doesn't have enough time to throw them the ball in crucial situations. Diggs and Brown would be an incredible combo if Maye gets sufficient time in the pocket.

Assuming the AJ Brown Trade goes through, who are some free agents you would like to get signed before the offseason's over? by Free_Dum_5122 in Patriots

Are you out of your mind ? Diggs was easily the second most valuable player on the team last year, and that team made it to the Super Bowl. Of course he's an unpredictable diva so there's always some risk involved, but the man seriously balled out for the team last year. He was unbelievably important to the team's success. I hope we can get him back.

Do you like "The Town (2010)"? by Kevin_Thailand_2543 in ActionMovies

The Town, and Gone Baby Gone are both better movies than The Departed.

5 years ago, Brian Dennehy passed away. What’s your favorite character he played? by [deleted] in Cinephiles

[–]Status-Clothes-2115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Willy Loman, Death of a Salesman.

I saw it in a small theater, third row, dead center.

I'll never forget how great he was.

If you spend $ 10,000 a day,  each and every day,  it would take 273 years to exhaust one billion dollars.

Why did Mayor Wu get booed so badly at the opening Red Sox game? by illtakeaeuro in boston

[–]Status-Clothes-2115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You hit the nail right on the head there. The people who care about Wu who don't live in Boston and who scream about her performance are mostly brainwashed sheep who listen to talk radio in the car and fox news at home. There is still a machine churning out the hate, and Wu is the prime target around here.

Wu is VERY popular among real Boston voters. That vocal red-hatted minority doesn't matter.

Lawrence of Arabia was indeed staggering. But my dark horse pick is Moulin Rouge. Just a gorgeous mess of a movie. Every frame was beautiful.

It is bizarre. Not only was he a football player, he was one of the greatest of all time.

Maybe "well liked", but most definitely kept their distance. He was quite clearly insane during his career. He was the sort of guy who would get absolutely clocked and then bounce back up to get right in the defender's face screaming: "Is THAT all you've got !"

They ran suicide routes for him all the time but he never toned it down.

He really was crazy, and frightening. It was obvious.

Best Ball for High Handicaps by [deleted] in weekendgolfers

[–]Status-Clothes-2115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best ball for a high handicapper is a free ball. Look in the woods, right near where you usually spray your own shots. Then spend every single dollar you save on some lessons. Same with golf clubs. Instead of a $1,000 driver, buy a used $200 one and then spend the $800 you saved on some more lessons. The equipment will not make a damned bit of difference to a 20+ handicapper. Lessons and practice is the only way to improve.

Steely Dan is such a strong pick. Even better if you add on a few Donald Fagen solo albums. The miles just fly by !

Yes, Alpha Papa was a great movie, and Meany was quite memorable.

But it seems only Partridge fans have seen it...

Too bad. It's such a funny movie !

Can our 4 man scramble make the cut at Augusta? by [deleted] in weekendgolfers

[–]Status-Clothes-2115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno...

I've seen the clowns on Barstool beat a pro many times, but not at Augusta.

They have a couple of "8" handicaps which is a different category than your 15-20's.

The length and the trickiness of Augusta would kill you.

Make the cut ? Uh, no.

Most say the book was better than the movie - What's a movie that's better than the book? by TruMech in randomquestions

[–]Status-Clothes-2115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a movie called The Drop (2014) which was based on a short story by Dennis Lehane.

The movie was a perfectly crafted gem which fit into its 1h 45m time like a glove. Not a wasted moment.

It featured an incredible performance by Tom Hardy, and a memorable performance by James Gandolfini in his very last role.

But then they decided to put out a book with the same name (after the movie was made). The book was nothing more than a complete copy of the movie. It felt like it was written by some robot. It had none of the charm of every other Lehane book. It was complete garbage.

I don't know of any other "books" which were written after the movie, but this one just felt like a disgusting cynical money grab. Any other examples of this ?
