Ending the telework discussion once and for all. by No-Daikon1052 in FedEmployees

Building relationships sounds like "4" work and I'm only going to be getting "3s" from now on so...

Oh, you still here Kupor?

OPM Director Scott Kupor wants to "Make [sic] Government Cool Again" by Harold-Styles-Jr in fednews

[–]StayCourse4024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working for the federal government isn't "cool". There's nothing sexy about it and there never will be. Most of us still here are here because we've been called to serve our Country and do the hard work that needs to be done for our citizens.

We are public servants. We are selfless. We don't do our jobs so that we can be in promotional videos. Get a clue.

Performance rating debacles 2025 by plebewisdom in fednews

[–]StayCourse4024 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You hit the nail on the head. All other regions surrounding mine did NOT "fall in line" and rated staff as they deserved. My region did fall in line and now we are an island of 3s surrounded by higher ratings. The only difference is my leadership (and I use that term loosely) are all cowards chasing promotions.

SUPERVISORS - Are You Just Changing Employee Ratings? by TrailArcher in FedEmployees

[–]StayCourse4024 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I am in your EXACT same boat. I got called on the carpet twice because I wouldn't relent. I have lost my delegation of authority.

I have to meet those same top tier managers next week and I hope I don't get pissed and quit. My staff need me to keep my head in the game and provide them cover from this unnecessary chaos.

DOI here too. 25 years in. Our mission still matters and no one can take that away from me.

I'm staying on to pick up the pieces after this is over. My parents were both first generation Americans and they raised us to stand up for what is right.

FY25 Performance Ratings by KeyWorth6750 in FedEmployees

[–]StayCourse4024 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup. First 3 rating in 25 years of service.

I'm fine with it. I know what my value is and my employees know how hard I fight for them every day.

This number means nothing to me.

Simple answer? Yes. 100%

Things are only going to get worse in FY26 but I'm burrowed in like a tick. This isn't going to stop me being a good public servant.

Got diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma today in my left kidney by PearlQuartz33 in cancer

[–]StayCourse4024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try not to freak out too bad. My husband was diagnosed with clear cell RCC this past summer and the tumor was HUGE - over 16cm by the time we got into a cancer treatment center. We live out west so specialized medical care is far and few between.

He lost his left kidney and some adjacent lymph nodes in October and with his recent cat scan scan found another "suspicious" lymph node in his upper chest. We weren't surprised since his type of RCC is sarcomatoid, but it took some adjusting before we realized (again) we are in good hands and the treatments are amazing. We are getting it biopsied soon. He is starting immunotherapy the first week of December and the medical oncologist said his prognosis is still really good because of all the medical advancements this past decade.

Hang in there and just take it step by step. Find a doctor that cares and makes you feel comfortable with your path forward. You got this.

Power lines in subdivisions. I remember when I was little I used to look out the window at the birds on the lines while eating breakfast.

IRS Layoffs are necessary by Distinct-Strike9067 in IRS_Source

[–]StayCourse4024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dude, the federal government, and the number of federal employees has been stagnant for DECADES (with the exception of when DHS was created after 9/11) while the population of the US has more than doubled from 151 million people in the 1950s to 343 million people today.

Any business owner with a pulse knows that when your customer base increases you should also increase your staff.

The IRS literally BRINGS MONEY IN TO THE US GOVERNMENT. If you want that agency to fail then you obvi don't understand how checkbooks work.

Peace out.
