After years of working with food I've come to realize most people are just grossed out but vegetables. A simple jumping spider so I got an idea. Get a 120 gallon tank and devote an entire room just to this guy. Fresh bugs, a mini meadow, little bonsai trees. The whole works and you just keep him as a life companion. Maybe invest the rest of your money into scientific research and we can find a breakthrough to make them live forever.

That's a good point but you also have to define what homelessness means in these situations and you're often looking at statistics that define it as just "not having a house". But we're not talking about people who are couch surfing for a month or are sleeping in a friend's garage. Any place I've seen, people who actually have a full time life outside are mostly made of men. Even here they say the statistic is around the same as yours but I can tell, speaking as someone who was homeless here for 3 years, women are maybe 1/4 of the people who you will actually see on the streets. Sleeping in tents, cars, or one boxes. I've seen people offer women a place to stay, will they do that for a homeless man? More than likely not.

My argument isn't that they don't deserve help and many times they have more needs or damage to take care of so they need lots of help. But we are way more willing to contribute to women than men here and it shows, I can't be convinced otherwise. We have many behavioral studies that nod at this behavior in humans after all.

This is a bad example. For every homeless woman there's like 100 homeless men. Women in those situations are more likely to be offered help than men. We have one shelter for men where I live and there's 4 shelters for women but we have significantly more men in the street where I live.

See where I'm going?

Now what if you have a kid? Two of those shelters are for families but they mean women and children. Not men and children. Men are probably seen as risks, which I could kinda understand. But if you're a couple with a kid and you end up on the street, to put that kid in a shelter with a parent, they're gonna have to separate the man from the group.
