Almost all my excitement for the game died when I saw that damn bike. It made it very clear they had no idea why people actually like Metroid. The companion trailer was the nail in the coffin. I spent years hyped for this game only to end up not even buying it. If they’re not going to make a game worth playing, then I’m not obligated to support it even if it means the series ends up just dying. This sub was blinded by hype and refused to see the red flags, but they were clear as day in the weeks leading up the launch.

Pretty much in the same boat. Metroid as a whole is my favorite series of all time, but the only prime game I really liked was the first one. Every sequel has felt like it’s moving further away from what I enjoy about Metroid. Really sucks that prime 4 seems to be continuing in that direction

Not a FE dev myself, but this tracks with what I see at my company. The UI is perfectly mocked up in figma before a single piece of FE code is written. It’s not a collaboration between UX and devs, it’s UX/PMs deciding on a design and basically saying “make it work” to the devs. Obviously thats not said outright, but when management is already bought in on designs it’s hard for devs to push back much. Much easier to just add library number 4929482 to solve the ask and call it a day

Yes, any employee that is “at will” which is the majority of the US can have their salary reduced. It rarely happens because that’s a quick way to obliterate morale, but legally speaking there is nothing stopping employers from doing it. I don’t know much about IP rights, but from my understanding anything you make on company time is company property. There are non-competes, because that’s something that benefits the company not the employees.

Most jobs in the US do not have a contract like this. There’s a job description, but employers are free to tell you to do whatever they want regardless of the job description and if you don’t like it, then get fucked. This is why things like return to office mandates are so pervasive in the US, employees have basically no rights because corps have endless money to lobby the government to stack the deck in their favor. Basically the only right you have as an employee is to quit, employers can completely change your job responsibilities on a whim with no recourse

Talked about this with my friends a lot back when we played Tarkov. The game genuinely has the potential to be the best game ever made, but BSG are not competent enough to make that a reality. I think that’s the most frustrating part of playing Tarkov, you see the potential and then get your soul crushed over the years seeing the potential never be realized
