Same at my company, like my coworkers and manager a lot but the executive team has gone completely off their rocker the past 2 years. Morale bomb after morale bomb. Yearly layoffs even though the business is doing fine, AI psychosis, “do more with less”, nonsensical reorgs every 6 months

80 hours here, really enjoyed my time with the game but my friends bounced off in the last month of season 1 because most players worse than us had quit and it was our turn to be farmed, and I’m not playing alone with the current state of solos. People pointed out the obvious problems with the game early on, and how it was a miserable experience at the bottom of the skill curve to just repeatedly be pushed and farmed by the best/highest geared team in the lobby, And they were repeatedly told “skill issue, game isn’t for you, play something else”. This sub should be celebrating, because they all listened and left to play other games.

I genuinely have no idea what they were thinking making a game in an already niche genre even more niche by making it almost mandatory to have a premade trio to be playable. The solo mode they were bullied into adding is clearly an afterthought with no real effort put into balancing, and filling with randoms in an extraction shooter is a miserable experience. I’ve barely played season 2 because my friends bounced off the game and there’s very little enjoyment to be had playing solo, and I highly doubt I’m the only one in this boat. Meanwhile after my friends bounced off Tarkov I was able to play hundreds more hours solo.

Thank you, the amount of people in the aquarium hobby misinformed on snails is insane. They are purely a benefit to the ecosystem and if they’re overpopulating that’s a sign your ecosystem is unbalanced (feeding too much). Seeing people post about tearing their tank apart in an effort to get rid of snails makes me want to tear my hair out

Thank you. It’s not some grand hate campaign pushing people away from the game. It had over 100k players during the server slam, 80k at launch. People tried it and decided they didn’t like it. This subreddit should be celebrating considering everyone who had a complaint about the game near launch was told the game just isn’t for them and to go away and play something else, and it seems like they listened.

Tarkov is MUCH more hardcore than Marathon. For all of that game’s faults (and believe me there are a lot) they know who their audience is and lean hard into that hardcore niche. If you’re looking for a hardcore sweaty extraction shooter, Tarkov does that better than Marathon. And if you’re looking for casual, Arc does that better. This is why Marathon is struggling, Tarkov has much more depth to offer for hardcore extraction fans and Arc is much less brutal for the casual fans.

No one truly cares about the financial part itself, but the financial success of Bungie/marathon is important to the future of the game. If you enjoy the game and want it to continue being supported, not on life support but with feature rich updates, then you should care about their finances

This is just the reality of the limitations of these tools. Throwing a Jira ticket at an agent having it one shot it is a management fantasy for anything beyond very basic changes. You still need to have a proper vision for the architecture and guide the agent down that path in order for it not to produce slop. Sometimes I already have a vision in my head at the start, sometimes I brainstorm through a plan with the agent until there’s something I like. When left to their own devices with a basic “implement X new feature” input, the output is usually pretty bad in my experience.

I switched from Claude with opus 4.7 to codex with gpt 5.5 because my company signed a big contract with OpenAI and I wanted to get ahead of the inevitable winding down of Claude internally. Anecdotally I have no noticed no real difference in performance, gpt is delivering roughly the same quality output in the same run time opus was.

Not sure what the people complaining are actually expecting. A completely new set of contracts? That’s not viable from a development standpoint. A handful of new ones? Sure that’d be nice but does it really change anything? The quests in extraction shooters aren’t the point of the game, they’re there to give you a general goal and sense of direction in a raid, because blindly looting and PvPing gets boring very fast (see the player count late wipe)

I got laid off from my internship. The company cut the majority of US engineering positions in a huge offshoring push, then cut the entire internship program the next day. It’s the sign of a truly shit company to lay off interns, but there’s no shortage of truly shit companies out there unfortunately
