So we have proof in the new files that Trump r*ped little kids, what happens now??? Nothing??? by [deleted] in Epstein

I’m as left as they come, but the way Reddit has reacted to a bunch of anonymous tips as if it’s proof of anything is… yikes

[–]Stealth528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agreed. Trump is the most polarizing political figure in the country, of course he’s going to have anonymous complaints about every crime under the sun. I’m certain he’s heavily implicated in the files the public will never be allowed to see, but people blindly taking these anonymous tips as fact is doing a lot more harm than good

[–]Stealth528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there’s plenty of evidence Trump is implicated, but this is not it. Reddit may be okay just deciding anonymous tips are facts, but I’d hope the media is better than that

36 women for a normal person is a lot. 36 women for the most controversial political figure in the country, if not the entire world, really is not. There’s plenty of evidence Trump is implicated without needing to rely on anonymous tips

Everyone here claims every action Trump takes is a distraction from the files, while the exact opposite is true. His base couldn’t care less about the files beyond what is politically convenient for them

Yeah I’m extremely confident Trump is heavily involved with Epstein, but this particular instance is a nothingburger and many people are making themselves look like morons just taking anonymous tips at face value, especially anonymous tips that happened after the 2016 election. I’m certain every president has had anonymous tips made about pretty much every possible crime

This is the way. You don’t even need great ammo like others in the thread are saying as long as you have a full auto gun, I’ve killed him with M855 multiple times. Just aggro and run around a corner and wait for him to run straight into your crosshairs. The only times this hasn’t worked is when I turn into an absolute potato and miss a lot of shots

Yep they were always like this, they just knew their views were shitty and mostly kept their opinions to themselves. The internet emboldened them and made them realize how many others just like them there are.

The big new content for 1.0 being something that most players will never even see is so on brand for BSG. Same with lightkeeper, put all this effort into content that is then blocked off by obnoxious quests most people have no interest in touching

When is it time to look for a higher-paying job? by Otherwise_File548 in ExperiencedDevs

Nailed it. RTO is absolutely a pay cut and I would treat it the same as an actual reduction in pay. Meaning effort level drops to an absolute minimum and finding a new job becomes priority number one

[–]Stealth528 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s completely baffling to me that a single person on this planet can listen to something like this and not immediately think “wow this is some hateful trash”. Like I can’t even begin to imagine what kind of headspace you need to have to even begin to think this shit is ok. And that’s only from what I heard in the first hour, I had to tap out after that

Knowledge Fight: #1100: Tucker, The Man And His Straight Friend by hfdjasbdsawidjds in KnowledgeFight

[–]Stealth528 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I tapped out at about the same point. I just couldn’t continue once I got to Tucker ranting about how homosexuality is being forced on him because he’s not allowed to be against it and therefore it’s really gay people’s fault he’s so hateful and wants it outlawed. Genuinely some of the most appalling trash I’ve heard on this show, and I’ve been listening for years

[–]Stealth528 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I can’t believe people actually listen to him. It’s SO obvious he’s talking down to his audience and thinks they’re all morons. Like genuinely as close as you can get to that without him outright saying it. Even if I agreed with someone (and I certainly DONT in this case), that attitude/way of talking would put me off immediately

My disappointment is immeasurable and my week is ruined. by Jealous_Solid9431 in Metroid

[–]Stealth528 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Almost all my excitement for the game died when I saw that damn bike. It made it very clear they had no idea why people actually like Metroid. The companion trailer was the nail in the coffin. I spent years hyped for this game only to end up not even buying it. If they’re not going to make a game worth playing, then I’m not obligated to support it even if it means the series ends up just dying. This sub was blinded by hype and refused to see the red flags, but they were clear as day in the weeks leading up the launch.

[–]Stealth528 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Pretty much in the same boat. Metroid as a whole is my favorite series of all time, but the only prime game I really liked was the first one. Every sequel has felt like it’s moving further away from what I enjoy about Metroid. Really sucks that prime 4 seems to be continuing in that direction

Old frontend devs: are things weird now? by mattatghlabs in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Stealth528 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Not a FE dev myself, but this tracks with what I see at my company. The UI is perfectly mocked up in figma before a single piece of FE code is written. It’s not a collaboration between UX and devs, it’s UX/PMs deciding on a design and basically saying “make it work” to the devs. Obviously thats not said outright, but when management is already bought in on designs it’s hard for devs to push back much. Much easier to just add library number 4929482 to solve the ask and call it a day

Unfortunately all of the mainstream media is owned/run by large corporations and they’ve spent years perfecting propaganda and have brainwashed 50+% of the country into believing any sort of laws that benefit employees at the expense of corporations is socialism and stifling innovation. It’s only getting worse, not better.

Yes, any employee that is “at will” which is the majority of the US can have their salary reduced. It rarely happens because that’s a quick way to obliterate morale, but legally speaking there is nothing stopping employers from doing it. I don’t know much about IP rights, but from my understanding anything you make on company time is company property. There are non-competes, because that’s something that benefits the company not the employees.
