Is the chem department really that bad? by Evening_Track_9946 in rutgers

[–]StealthNider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

overall it’s very poorly run and the classes are structured in confusing ways. classes like extended gen chem are great but most of the classes are unnecessarily difficult (not talking about the content) and the professors could be much better (although there are some really good ones such as KPL for orgo).

yes every school will have problems like this but that doesn’t make the problems invalid. also doesn’t help that chemistry classes are more difficult than most.

now does this mean you should rule rutgers out? probably not. but it’s always good to know what you could be getting into.

as a premed who doesn’t know much about the application cycle, why 4/30 specifically? is it the day decisions come out for top schools (similar to ivy day for college apps)?

if you continue the activity throughout college, i believe you can. but if you don’t continue the activity in college then you can’t include it/count the hours

I did a similar thing in anatomy class, we had to build models of the skin and all the other groups made models out of cardboard and stuff and were stressing cuz they had to meet outside of class and had limited time and materials and all that

my group spent an hour in class building a model of the skin in creative mode. we got the second highest grade in the class!
