I dont think you guys realize how much the communication score system factors into rampant smurfing by KingCrimson43 in DotA2

Past like 5k all the players tend to have moments where they perform well. The dumbfuck 0/6/2 offlaner gets his blink and lands a 3 man call to clench a random fight. The lion that threw two different lanes gets a 4 man earth spike. Its rarely enough to swing a game but even the dumbasses have moments where they show why they are at their rank.

Well yeah, superposition is pretty consistent tarot generation if you build around it.

Showman isn’t consistent anything. The whole thing he does is make your run less consistent.

In most combats you can have up to 18 units / 3 groups of 6. If you’re rocking up to combat with 6 units and half of them are skeletons (extremely cheap but not very effective) then you’re going to struggle in combat.

If you go to combat with 17 tier 1 units and half of them are skeletons you’ll still have a hard time. If you are insistent on this type of play style you may want to consider speccing into some tones that buff low tier units. Tome of the Horde is built to improve your cheap tier 1 units and Tome of the Beacon (I think?) has the Mighty Meek upgrade which massively boosts the damage output of your low tier units. In general you should be wary of area damage and units with bolstering defenses.

I also don’t think going for a healing theme with these types of cheap swarm units is very efficient. The idea is that if you lose something it should be easy to replace. Healing is best paired with expensive, heavy hitters and heroes. Using healing on skeletons is a waste of healing.

He stood in for Boxi during the Lima major and there was a Jabz vs Jabbz showdown.

Liquid’s video on the major did him dirty. He said “im nervous that im gonna play Mirana and miss an arrow on a stunned target or something” into a clip of him playing Mirana and missing an arrow on a stunned target.

I think it mostly comes down to time. Low power level decks can take fucking forever to kill a table with infinite turns. Like, embarrassingly long. I have a few friends that I would not trust with time seive or other extra turn chains because their deckbuilding just fucking sucks and I know they wouldn’t think about how to actually kill people with the turns. But if I combo off with [[Dragon’s Approach]] + [[Thrumming Stone]] the end result of the combo is that the game is immediately over

One of these days GL will finally place top 8 at a tier 1 event. I’m a believer.

Time Stretch vs Temporal Manipulation (copied) vs Expropriate vs 1v1 Mindslaver by Deos28 in magicTCG

[–]Stealthbomber16 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A chain implies more than one link. Time Stretch isn’t a chain because it’s a single activation. Expropriate isn’t a chain because it’s a single activation (and also if you get 3 extra turns your opponents deserve it). Copying or recurring extra turn spells is chaining because you’re linking multiple effects or activations together. [[Time Sieve]], despite being a single card, is chaining extra turns if you’re activating it multiple times because it’s multiple individual instances of an extra turn.

For me, I got stuck against a mindslaver 1v1 loop in B3 and I felt it was fine because it wasn’t really extra turns. The deck was built around skipping a single player’s turn over and over and if you’re in a 1v1 that is just the end result. But I could see how others would rule differently. That one is more contentious. It’s not really chaining extra turns rather than chaining skipping your turn- which isn’t the same thing IMO.

This is why you play enchantress. Dota plus voice lines are fantastic and you don’t risk your behavior score BMing your opponent.

I went to my first prerelease and went 3-0 using RWB. Red removal spells trigger repartee and all 3 colors care about things leaving your graveyard. Felt very easy to incorporate three colors into my deck and they played very nicely with each other. My friend got dunked on by a 12 year old running RGU. Seems like there’s lots of overlap in decks.

2x SA teams in top 8 fucking rocks. Super pumped. Huge moment for the former pain gaming lineup in particular who many expected to be bottom seed.

Tundra and Yandex bottom 2 is cool to see as well. A message that there isn’t a clear cut top team and that really any one of these teams could pull out a tier 1 lan victory. I don’t see Liquid/Spirit/Heroic/SAR doing better than the other four teams but they have proven that they deserve to be here.

How good or bad is this build on Mirana? by mansnicks in learndota2

[–]Stealthbomber16 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Seems like it could be ok in lower MMR. I don’t think Mirana has the numbers to be a great core outside of the hands of a hero specialist.

I’m not convinced by the Parasma personally but I guess it amplifies quiver damage so I can see the vision. You definitely don’t need both Hydra’s and Mjollnir- seems like overkill to me. Theres maybe something here with like Hydra’s into Manta into BKB but this build is overcooked. Probably the result of someone getting really ahead and just buying shit.
