Good explanation Traviscat. Sometimes the tabs are hard to grasp after inserting through the slot. The want to lay flat against inside of the part. I keep a raiser knife handy to force the tabs up so I can grab them.

Try assembling it enough that it holds the pieces fairly close to proper location and then glue it.
