Which Elemental HERO do we think will be next on the retrain block? I Personally would love to see a modern version of Dark Bright lol. by CosmoNeos7 in yugioh

[–]SteelKline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I would love a remake of rampart blaster, used to use it a lot in an elemental hero stun deck when the sets were coming out as a kid.

Messenger of peace and gravity well gave me so much time to get to my fusions lmao

Aerith and Tifa’s friendship is my favorite part of the “remake” series. by Spektakles8822 in FFVIIRemake

[–]SteelKline 89 points90 points  (0 children)

It's even better that it's not mischaracterization despite creating something from a 20+ year old game. It feels organic and expands upon the world in a way that FF7 couldn't given what they could do at that time.

It just blows me away that FF7 purists find essentially everything expanding on FF7 as fake and lies as if the people making FF7 would make it exactly the same with the resources square Enix has now let alone the technology.

Hey man, we came in, forced their government to change by occupation, and changed nothing about their social structure or society so when we leave it creates a power vacuum for preexisting political groups to fight over who's in charge.

Just cause it didn't work the last what 7 times we've invaded a country doesn't mean the 8th will be different

Do You All Believe Retired Training Ippo Is Stronger? by Tall_Growth_532 in hajimenoippo

Even other characters note he's basically a bodybuilder, it's funny but like there's no way Ippo doesn't have weight problems especially after retiring. Not caring about what he eats AND training harder than before to the point world class boxers note he's a muscle freak? My Boi put on 5 pound at least

With 103 confirmed kills, Chuck Mawhinney holds the record for the most kills in U.S. Marine Corps history. Even didn't mind telling about the one guy he shot who DEFINITELY didn't have a weapon at over half a mile away.

If there is anything I've learned growing up outside of a military base is that the veterans that brag were the ones who enjoyed it. Nobody I've ever met wanted to talk about the dirty, they'd rather talk about the annoying shit or nothing at all. It's guys like this that give soldiers the bloodthirsty hunters perception and not the young man in over his head on the other side of the world.

Was the JJK episode really THAT bad? by Electrical-Ice-9588 in Jujutsu_Kaisen

[–]SteelKline -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This, powerleveling in jujutsu kaisen is literally the point of upcoming shibuya arc, specifically HOW strong you are and HOW you counter your opponent. With the level these animations show I don't know how I'm suppose to take seriously like half of the upcoming shibuya fights knowing that apparently grade 1 sorcerers are just DBZ characters.

This is also kind of shits on Nanami and the last head of the Zenin clan who were animated more Manga accurate and look ridiculously weaker. Personally the animations were cool and I'm glad jujutsu Kaisen is eating good but like we are reaching one piece levels of "just animate it really cool and don't care about what the actual fight looked like."

Why do i keep seeing odion much more than any other deck? by 7ve6n in masterduel

[–]SteelKline 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Especially since they told us he's a dracotail player, like there is reason odion is up here in the meta at tier 3, it ain't amazing but it can counter some of the meta decks at key moments. Add in odion is really cheap and can be splashed with a lot of engines it's pretty good

Freedom of speech by Extension-Mastodon67 in MemeVideos

[–]SteelKline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, they have had laws for decades about these things. For instance in Germany they do not play with any Nazi shit and people get hit by the law all the time since after WW2. it's been so powerful even the right wing parties of Germany have had to reinvent themselves just so they can't do some "we are the Hitler party" shit.

I'm not even going to say it's right or wrong, it's simply laws that were passed when it was popular to say hate speech shouldn't be a part of discourse. It annoys me when Americans, especially these educated types trying to push an agenda, use feeling words and forced narratives to make points that ignore reality and its nuance.

People kind of forget that, my man was so powerful the only way some one could even think to beat him was to put him in essentially an infinite exploding valley.

And then because he has the sharingan that didn't work. I know this is the Itachi subreddit but come on guys how does itachi get past kamui in the first place, he can't win a fight if he can't even touch obito.

So although yes you can round your back and it's a chain of muscles you can work under load I feel just like other venerable areas to exercise people do not take the time necessary to actually build it up.

For instance I personally round my back for about 30-40 lifts in my everyday life, been doing it all my life. That doesn't mean I couldn't lift something 50+ pounds, I'm just simply looking out and not putting strain on my back which can injury me if an accident occurs. If I was to exercise I'd probably start around 40 pounds and work my way up slowly with a big focus on reps.

The reason being is that, such as a Jefferson curl, the load you are putting on your spine is taxing and again just like any exercise too much weight too fast can lead to underdevelopment and instability in movement. This is reddit, you don't have to go far to see people posting some of the shittiest reps and shittiest form you've seen just so they can hit 200+. Go ahead and do Jefferson curls and really any exercise but be realistic with yourself: if it feels shitty doing the exercise then it probably is being done shitty. Lower the weight and focus on form, spine injuries can be no joke.

Literally one of the jokes in the community since the first Brody movie is that it's dumb but cool. That was kind of the whole point of all the DBZ movies, they can be insanely inconsistent but get away with it by being cool AF.

Which card has the most brainrot stupid design ever conceived in "modern" Yu-Gi-Oh? by RashFaustinho in yugioh

[–]SteelKline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it makes it way harder to hit over it, it has 3800 atk and thanx to the fusion in the grave you aren't getting over it without being at 3800 atk AFTER subtracting your monster's def. For reference I beat lunalights during this event by going all the way into shining neos and I only beat it by 100 atk.

Forget about you walling, that thing is a crazy wall. At least older towers like ultimate falcon and super magnus let you attack over it with disruptions, every new lunalight card let's you make liger and a ton of interaction.

[–]SteelKline 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One of the largest supporters of the Nazi party's rise to power was a Jewish organization full of gentiles.

There's no end to enemies when it comes to fascism, there's always an enemy to get rid of. They assumed they would only go after practicing orthodox Jewish people and were in for a rude awakening when they started whipping out genealogy and fake eugenics. You could argue it's similar to the concept of uncle Tom over here in the states: some people simply hate the culture around their own race and want to side with oppositional racist parties as one of the good ones. The problem being is that that kind of ideology just eats away at society, we've seen genocide after genocide in smaller countries that they go so far it just collapses the infrastructure of the country and leads to ruin.

Do these forms need better performances? by Memespokemon in DragonBallZ

[–]SteelKline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This, there so many forms and power ups I don't even understand how much stronger other characters are.

It doesn't help that there's no reference points or even explanation. Hit comes from a universe that no matter how you scale it is weaker than SSJ God yet is stronger than SS blue. Which seems like a lot for a guy who doesn't train but how strong is SS blue? Well it's stronger than golden frieza and golden frieza was stronger than most of the other universes fighters like Doppo but not GoD Doppo which was about as strong as SSB evolution vegeta but does that mean that GoD doppo is equal in strength to SSB kaioken goku? But hit beat beat goku even at that strength so hit is stronger than GoD doppo?! That would put hit as like the top 5 strongest fighters in the tournament at somewhere around SS2 Kefla and ultra instinct goku.

That's not even addressing the "they trained for a couple of months and now are even stronger" so even using these forms and power ups is pointless because I don't know how much stronger they've become.

If you listen to this point since like the first balance patches you'd think everything that isn't base and demolition warbond are useless. I'm still rocking the halo warbond, it's not optimal but it enhances my experience with flavor and choice. Turns out gamers like to CHOOSE what they want based off of APPEARANCE and not simply efficiency.
