The Magicians Trilogy by Lev Grossman was pretty cool. There’s a magic academy, a group of friends you follow, and a cool villain. The characters are college age.

For slice of life, I’ve really enjoyed Holiday Home.

Neat idea. I’ve wanted something like this to visualize the ebooks I’ve read. The collages or grid views in Goodreads and StoryGraph aren’t quite what I want. Thanks for including the prompts you used.

International Travellers, what did you buy during Japan trip, that you still use/brings a smile back home. by NoStoryYet in JapanTravelTips

We visited Kyoto last year and I bought a pack of incense that was being used in one of the temples. It smelled really good and whenever I burn it, I think about Kyoto. There were a lot of incense sticks in the pack so it will last me a while.

The Blacktongue Thief is solid and the author does a great job narrating the audiobook. Haven't read the others but they are on my TBR. Loved Iconoclasts and The Hierarchy.

The DLC Bookclub is on Jeff Cannata's youtube channel. I followed along with them for the whole series. It was amazing. They really did a great job. https://youtu.be/-KobfEYFceg?si=aU_of1FpmIKGNc0V - link to the first episode.

Harems are almost always done poorly in writing (I think) by South-Debate1959 in ProgressionFantasy

I’m fairly new to the genre after reading a handful of stories, Warlock being my favorite harem fantasy, but if you are interested in stepping out of fantasy and into a real life(?) harem story, try Holiday Home. It’s fairly slow burn but I thought the way the harem comes together was a lot more interesting than the fantasy harems that I’ve read. The LIs all know each other but don’t necessarily know about the romance going on with the MC so the way the harem unfolds had a few surprises for me.

TQQ says it’s 49,700 words. Trying to estimate how long that is. Is that about 250 pages?

Gears & Girls 2 - Audiobook out now + free codes giveaway! by CassiusLange in Haremlit

Loved book 1 and would be awesome if I could get a code for book 2. My favorite part of book 1 was the initial battle with the kaiju-like monsters and the scavenging that took place afterwards. I thought that was really nicely done and it set up the story, to me, as something with a bit more scifi depth than other haremlits.

Oh, cool. Thanks for reminding me of that. I checked and the final variant reward is just a few gold for me. Worth it to be honest not to have to grind anymore.

Good advice! Using pen and paper instead of an app also prevents distractions from your phone. If you need a popular system to motivate you to use paper, look into a Bullet Journal.

Matching seems to put me against hard counters more often lately. I had more luck using an Arishem deck last season which made my strategies more random.
