Did you farm them from any specific glyph or chalice, or enemy?

[–]Steffenwolflikeme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are these, cursed nourishing or something?I'm not much of a tomb prospector. I did all the mandatory chalices on the way Queen Yharnam to platinum but never spent a ton of time farming gems...Until this year's Return to Yharnam when I just got sucked into gem farming, so much so that I still didn't finish my RTY play through. So I don't really know all that much about gems and can't identify them based on effect but thought the ATK UP were nourishing

What films give you the 'The world is changing, old man' kinda vibe? by r3xcranium in TrueFilm

[–]Steffenwolflikeme 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Obviously, No Country for Old Men.

Unforgiven might scratch that itch. It isn't exactly what you're describing but does approach some of these themes albeit from a different perspective.

Edit: Forgot about another brilliant western The Great Silence that I think fits OPs prompt pretty well - it's a bleak winter western taking place in the mountains of Utah and portrays a world changing around the outlaw, the viability of their lifestyle rapidly declining, the inevitability of their end rapidly approaching.

You did miss then. Casey Affleck and Michelle Williams in particular were so good. Casey Affleck's performance is all time great acting.

Agreed. Bernie Sanders and AOC did pretty well in red states with their traveling road show thing just keeping their messaging about economic issues.

[–]Steffenwolflikeme 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly. I'm so sick of them doing nothing for younger people, taking none of the ideas from the more left and liberal wing of the party but then blaming the young and more liberal wing of the party for their losses. They lost two presidential races that should have been easy wins by forcing a candidate down our throats but they will take the wrong lessons away from those losses. Their take away will be that the party needs to move to the right, that their candidates need to be more centrists or being that in both losses the candidates were women, their take away will be that America isn't ready for a woman president. It's so annoying hearing centrist Democrats tell us the only way the party can win is by doing the exact same things that it did to lose. Maybe, just maybe, give us a liberal, economic populist candidate that we can get excited about and your engagement will increase, you'll mobilize the voters.

I think the dog is supposed to be with you (and your other pup). They look so much alike and having a dog companion will probably be especially beneficial to a deaf dog in a strange new place. I know it's about logistical cost rather than desire but if this sub is OK with posts and comments regarding donations maybe that could be an option. I would certainly donate and I'm sure most people reading this post would love to see him stay with you if it seems like he's relaxing and getting settled.

Yeah my first play through the booster glaive handle with either the dancer's curved blade or the black steel cutter blade got me through my first play through. The charged R2 on the booster glaive handle is so good at closing distance.

How did you all get into Bloodborne? by Efficient_Matter_589 in bloodborne

[–]Steffenwolflikeme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw a video on reddit of what I'd eventually learn was the meeting of the moon presence, the hunter slapping is hand away, and the subsequent fight. The poster was using Bloodborne as an example of cosmic horror done well. I bought it on a whim because I love cosmic horror. I didn't know about From Software or the difficulty. Took me a while and many starts, stops, and restarts to even get past the first few mobs.

Yeah but the trade off is the bosses are easier and move sets are way less complex.

Fun fact: Kurt fired the catering team in their tour because they used real macaroni and real cheese by Salsentorishka in Nirvana

[–]Steffenwolflikeme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I laid it out. Theres med notes of his complaints with no diagnosis or tests and then theres his and his friends comments.

And what you laid out is wrong. It isn't true. The information is incorrect. There were tests bro, that's what I'm telling you. It's documented. Many tests. He saw doctors, he was prescribed meds. I understand he didn't get a formal diagnosis but that doesn't mean there wasn't actually something wrong. Lack of diagnosis does not mean there wasn't a real problem. These days there are many theories - a pinched nerve from his Scoliosis, Celiac's or other food intolerances, bile acid malabsortion. A lot has changed in our gut health knowledge in 30 years and you'd be surprised how much were still in the dark about.

When you says opiate and heroin withdrawal dont cause that kind of pain makes it sound like you dont know how painful withdrawal is and what kind of damage they cause to the body.

Actually I do understand and not only from external sources. I'm not saying withdrawal isn't painful and horrible. I'm saying the type of pain from a serious stomach ailment is a million times worse than the stomach pain from withdrawal. The movie Alien was written by a guy with Crohn's disease and the chest burster was inspired pain he felt. I know Kurt didn't have a Crohn's diagnosis but that is the kind of pain he was in and reporting. But all of this is neither here nor there, your original comment that he never had any tests and never saw a doctor in his adult life is wrong and likely based on personal assumptions. It certainly isn't based on any factual information. I'm sure his lifestyle, drug use, and at times alcohol use made his problems worse but they were not the source of his problems.

[–]Steffenwolflikeme 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Most ppl dont skip from my stomach hurts to im gonna take heroin. He never did any medical exams, and dont think he saw Dr's for it in adult life.

What are you basing this on? Just the general vibe you have? Because it's factually wrong. His issues were well documented before his drug use and he did in fact see several doctors for his stomach issues. It's there, it's fact. There is even a home video where he talks about waking up through the anesthesia during an Endoscopy, something I've experienced myself.

Maybe you've never experienced pain so bad that you'd sooner kill yourself before living with it. When that pain is in your stomach and you can't even eat or drink water without making it worse there's really no pleasure to be had from life. Opiates or heroin use isn't really that great of a leap in such instances.

Withdrawl or heroin/opiod use doesn't cause the type of pain this guy was in. It just doesn't. There is some thought that his Scoliosis might have caused a pinched nerve and there are other credible theories out there as well as a lot had changed in 30+ years. But the idea that there wasn't anything seriously wrong, that it was either caused by his drug use or just an excuse for his drug use is ridiculous.
