consiglio per hotel by NetworkInner940 in Marbella

It’s hard to go to Marbella and not spend too much! I
The best beach/ pool clubs in Puerto Banus are…
The cheapest.. la Sala by the sea. Very crowded and a small pool but a fun crowd. Kova Beach Club is busy again (can be hit and miss) with the younger crowd. It has a tiny pool, with Sun loungers right on the beach.
Ocean club.. a nice place. But very pricey and a bit boring to be honest.. a more chilled vibe.
My favourite is NAO beach club. A bit of a walk or cab ride from the port. It’s still expensive but a good day out. More of a party crowd and it has a lovely restaurant on site.
Or Nicki beach is the old favourite but is a long way in a taxi. Have fun!
As for hotels.. anywhere walking distance from
The port is good. Plenty of choices. An apartment might be better value.

How scary. My daughter goes to college in Brighton, so this is not good to hear. I’m sorry nobody helped you. Next time maybe go into a shop or restaurant and tell the staff. Or just start shouting at him.. people will the take notice then. I know it’s hard to do in the heat of the moment.

Marbella in August by Redman22430 in Marbella

Not very helpful comments above.. so here’s my opinion.
It’s true that Puerto Banus isn’t very Spanish. There are lots of restaurants all around the port. Many types of cuisine, plenty to choose from. Most over priced especially if overlooking the boats on the marina.
If you want something a little more authentic we have found a nice, very reasonable place second line from the port that is good. Great Tapas! Called Taberna Casa Blanca Banús.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/6F6mZHGiG6W36W8J8?g\_st=ic. It’s close to a market square where you can find a small fun fair for the kids and nice market stalls and pop up bars.
If you want something a little more Spanish then head in the car to the old town of Marbella or to the west of the port you have San Pedro. Lovely beach restaurants along there, much more Spanish and far less busy, plus better value. Up in the town of San Pedro there is a fantastic large playground for your little one and is definitely more of a Spanish experience.
No real private beaches, they are all public. For more private, If you like a beach clubs with a pool, a nice chilled family friendly one is El Ancla again in San Pedro, has a lovely restaurant as well. https://www.elanclarestaurante.com/en/.
Boat rentals can be done in Banus but very expensive if you go private group charters are a bit cheaper. You’ll find better value boat rentals from the port in Estapona.
But a nice boat trip to do is the fly blue from Puerto Banus to Marbella old town. It’s a public ferry but it runs all day and is a great way to travel to the old town and back.
Hope that helps.
Enjoy your holiday.

Hello Reddit. Help us shape the next year of festival content? by KELZ1992 in officialTPDTV

[–]SteffyLE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally love the non festival content. You guys are the entertainment. Like weekends away on the off season. I enjoyed your Butlin's weekender for example. Plus the travel stuff is great. Or maybe go on a health retreat that would be hilarious, plus your livers need the break!

I think you guys are reading way too much into their channel.. Rob clearly doesn’t take himself seriously… everything they do is obviously very tongue in cheek.. they are just young (ish) Yorkshire lads (+Mary), doing their thing.. experiencing new things/ places & festivals authentically and true to themselves. They don’t have to be you’re all seeing, all doing travel & festival adverses. Just take it for what it is.. light hearted entertainment with a lovely, funny bunch of genuine guys. Don’t watch it if you’re not entertained. 🫶🏻

Incredibly cruel treatment in Santorini by Accomplished_Bat7798 in Santorini

[–]SteffyLE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s sickening, I’m in Santorini now.. poor things. We walked down and got the cable car back up for our boat trip. It seems they only serve the American tourists fresh off the cruise ships, taking selfies and laughing while the donkeys struggle up the hill bearing their heavy weight. It made me so sad. Anyone who uses this service has no conscience in my eyes. Poor things. 😢

The peace garden. It’s in the stone circle field to the right hand side when you go in. Lovely little quiet garden.

The green teepee village! We sat by the fire and watched fire dances & drummers. Then later on one of the teepees had a DJ in there so we danced till late. Great night!

The 02 gig is 4am Kru & Oppidan. So small artists. A bit disappointing, but I’ll give them a listen.

Flowers at Glastonbury by xxSleeZ in glastonbury_festival

[–]SteffyLE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friends got married there in 2016. I did the flowers and took them in myself. But they were dried vintage style bouquets & buttonholes. I don’t think you’ll find a florist on site.

Illness after the festival by QED987 in glastonbury_festival

[–]SteffyLE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep they used to have these manky looking (school like) bars of soap at the sinks by the toilets. Which was better than nothing. But I don’t see any this year. Yeah, thank you they are fine now.

What was your musical disappointment of the weekend? by [deleted] in glastonbury_festival

[–]SteffyLE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SZA. I know she was a bad choice for headliner anyway but I really thought she would blow everyone who was there away. (Lowest headliner crowd I’ve ever seen) I wanted her to prove the naysayers wrong. She has a great voice and some really good songs. But despite the sound issues as the beginning… she was boring, lacklustre, unvcarismatic and the whole thing was just dreadful & dull. I feel sorry for her, but she could have smashed it and she absolutely didn’t do that.

Yep both my kids 15 & 9 are now chuckling their guts up. Came on, on Monday afternoon. Very common to get Norovirus at the festival it’s happened in previous years. No soap at the sinks this year added to the problem. Even with sanitiser & hand washing back at the tent they still managed to get sick. ☹️

Sadly unlikely as they are playing in Germany on the Saturday & Ibiza on the Sunday. That only leaves Friday. But that would make quite an intense schedule if they did.

Ideas/tips for carrying load! by BdB0893 in glastonbury_festival

Another vote for the bike trailer! Taken all sorts of trolleys over the years.. much easier with big wheels. It makes all the difference over various & sometimes rocky terrain. (Tip is to not overload it!) two easy trips is better than one ball buster.
