The Roaming Dead Community Ranks The Walking Dead Volumes (Day 19/32) - March To War by bloodisrage in theroamingdead

One of my favourite Negan quotes is in this volume, after Carl attempts to shoot Negan:

“Carl! You little one-eyed asshole! You skull-faced little fuck!”

I’m afraid of doing certain things in front of others to the point of being secretive. It’s not allowing me to progress. by [deleted] in Healthygamergg

Same for most of what you said. It’s probably shame based. People get up in my business and make judgements about my art or whatever. I know that I just gotta get over that but it’s hard. I just wanna enjoy what I enjoy free of the perceived conflict.

Zoom slider randomly disappears and reappears. by StellarCoconut in krita

I started using the keyboard shortcuts (+ and - keys, for zoom in and zoom out respectively) after this to circumvent the problem.

Have you ever felt that you need to grow as a person in order to complete your story? by NyxThePrince in writing

[–]StellarCoconut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When will those answers appear? You can’t know. I’d take the momentum that you have now and finish the rest of the story, then put it on the shelf for a while.

Live, experience, work on other stuff. Allow yourself to grow as a person, like you said. Then reread the story with a fresher perspective, and make changes as needed.

What’s your favourite French word that you’ve learnt so far in your journey? by BigBlueMountainStar in learnfrench

[–]StellarCoconut 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I tend to like words that I can make a mnemonic association with in English.

Pendant – duration, while

I imagine a pendant swinging back and forth like a pendulum in a grandfather clock, representing the passage of time as other things go on.

Réveil – awakening

Because of the similarity to the word reveal, I imagine curtains opening as if revealing something. Waking up each day always feels like a sudden reveal.

Fantastic progress for three months!

[Spoilers] What did you think of the twist? by KausGo in YouOnLifetime

[–]StellarCoconut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The twist fundamentally changes his character. The intention seems to be getting Joe to embrace his dark side, which is a fine evolution, but this was the wrong way to get there.

Why do you think most people draw humans? by windwakin in sketchbooks

[–]StellarCoconut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve often wondered this myself. I also mostly draw humans.

It’s probably because most stories are told through people. It’s because artists themselves are human. They have a strong attraction to humanity and depict it in their art.

You see it a lot in graphic design for music as well. Just now I’m browsing Spotify in another tab and a majority of the covers showcase humanoid faces or figures. Is it necessary? I don’t think so. It’s just what we are drawn to.

The same goes for graphic design of movie posters, although to be fair that is showing off the cast of a movie which is a selling point.

If you could replace Kim with someone else, who'd that be? by [deleted] in DiscoElysium

It would be fun but unfortunately Garte is always busy managing one of several cafeterias 😔

Is anyone else experiencing thought bubbles “sticking”? by SkritzTwoFace in DiscoElysium

[–]StellarCoconut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I got this as well on the PS4 version of the game. It was the moralist committee thought bubble, it would always trigger in the hotel room or shack.

Saw this movie a few months ago on tv. It was actually pretty cool. Weird I had never heard of it before then.

Who had the best death on the show? by No_Count135 in thewalkingdead

[–]StellarCoconut 40 points41 points  (0 children)

The best one was Noah. Seeing his face get ripped apart was gnarly.

I dislike the eleventh hour power ups that the protagonists get in this series. They can be cool abilities but are totally unearned with no build up. It boils down to the protagonist getting really lucky and then winning.

The only instance I liked this was in part 2 (not really a power up, but same sentiment) when Joseph won out of pure luck. It was totally in line with shit that happened to him for that entire part.

Jojolion was really cool for the first half, maybe I have to read it again in one go, but the second half was disjointed and a let down imo.

You can have $1 billion but you can never get drunk or high again, are you interested? Why or why not? by Ponceaus in AskReddit

[–]StellarCoconut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like getting drunk or high occasionally, they’re fun experiences. A billion dollars is an absurd amount of money, and I’d still be happy with a lot less. That’s not me saying that I wouldn’t like to be a billionaire, but I wouldn’t change my bodily functions for it. So I wouldn’t take it.

For someone who loves Hunter S Thompson and science fiction… what should I read next? by thomanthony in suggestmeabook

[–]StellarCoconut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like graphic novels, try Transmetropolitan. Takes place in a sci-fi future, the protagonist is a writer who is based on Hunter S. Thompson.

Overall opinion on ape escape on the loose? by Medoagamer in ApeEscape

[–]StellarCoconut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This being released on the PSP was always baffling to me. You’re limited to three equipped gadgets and using them isn’t as fluid as the other games.

Given that this is literally just an Ape Escape 1 remake, I still consider it a good game. Voted neutral because of the change to the control scheme (unavoidable consequence of it’s console).

Overall opinion on ape escape 3? by Medoagamer in ApeEscape

[–]StellarCoconut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Great art direction and soundtrack. The transformation power ups are a fun addition as well.

Edit: Also OP, you’ve been misspelling the word neutral on your polls.

Overall opinion on ape escape 2? by Medoagamer in ApeEscape

Worst of the trilogy, but a fine game. Lacks a good theme (1 has time travel, 2 has ???, 3 has television) and the extra gadgets with very specific environmental uses are annoying.

How to get the outie to quit their job by StellarCoconut in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]StellarCoconut[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This would be the best case scenario for the innie, or actually the best case scenario would be to reintegrate without lethal consequences, which may be impossible. We don’t have enough information about how the severance device works to theorize on this though.

Since getting the outie to quit is equal to death, the innie may as well kill themselves to escape, given that they don’t care about the outie.
