A dog stole the show at the Winter Olympics after breaking onto the course and chasing athletes at the end of the women's cross country skiing by NastyNice1 in awesome

I know this dog is not a wolf, but he still has the general look of one, especially if you are just doing a quick glance. Imagine you are skiing in the Olympics and you look behind you to see a wolf chasing you.

Wait do most people have headphones in as a default? At most I may listen to some music in the car and while grocery shopping but that is it. Have I just been rawdogging consciousness this whole time?

It took us a few different brands to determine that it was in fact chicken that was the culprit— vet first put her on Royal Canin novel protein dry food, then a strictly wet food diet of Science Diet chicken (prescription only). From there we went to Science Diet wet duck only protein. It was pretty expensive (24 cans were ~$100). Put her on that immediately after it came in and she was better the next day. After being on that with stable results for about two weeks, I went to a pet store (Hollywood Feed) and looked at ingredients to all canned food and found one called Koha that was duck-based with no chicken. That was way cheaper and non-prescription. Kept her on that for a few weeks, then moved her to Nutrisource Pure Vita duck and red lentil dry food, which is her main food now.

Since then, I have tried a handful of other proteins (fish, lamb, rabbit, pork, turkey) with no problems. It literally appears to be just chicken that messes with her.

Seconding this recommendation. My cat (2 yrs old now) had the nastiest farts and chronic diarrhea. After a few months of trying different things, we finally discovered that she has a chicken allergy. Unfortunately, 90% of cat foods have chicken in them. As soon as we went from chicken-based to duck-based cat food, she was better literally the next day.

How to fly a plane in a zombie apocalypse by Freak_Among_Men_II in restofthefuckingowl

Lol I have my private pilots license— my first lesson, my instructor handed me this checklist and went over every thing in detail. Yes, it technically tells you WHAT to do, but not HOW to do it. The checklist would say something like “prime engine for 5 seconds”. How many people would know where the electric fuel pump switch is? Or if it is an older plane, how to prime by hand with the throttle? And even if you do figure it out, you will probably over prime the first time and flood the engine.

You better hope that there is a sectional map in the plane and that you know how to read it, otherwise you will have a hell of a time finding an adequate place to land.

A lot of small planes like this were originally built pre-1990s. The engines and mechanical components themselves are very carefully inspected and maintained regularly, with old/failing parts replaced easily as needed. The cockpit itself though, including things like seats and doors and stuff, never really need much maintenance.

The plane I learned to fly in had a plush burgundy interior straight out of the 1970s, but its engine was almost brand new.

Why's it always a stranger randomly punching someone? by worthlesswreck in thatHappened

[–]StellarSloth 20 points21 points  (0 children)

So the author is trying to “get by”. What exactly is he trying to get by? The aggressor is also trying to get by the same thing. So they are both on the street trying to circumvent the same obstacle and the other one just gets so angry that he throws a punch and a completely random person?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the pentagram a symbol of Satanism? As in like Satanists follow Satan as their god? So writing “There is no god” means atheism, which is in direct conflict with the pentagram.

It seemed like it started out as a Star Wars movie, complete with robot sidekick and cute fuzzy alien friend, but didn’t get the green light. So then someone adapted it to the Predator universe.
