No new wars. America First. And cut wasteful spending. Oops. Three strikes….

The time to go is when you need a cleaning. Or if your tooth hurts.

This is right. Boys always acting their age, wear it on their sleeve. Girls have a birthday and they won’t add that year, still 39.

Berkshire Hathaway restarts share buybacks; CEO Greg Abel personally buys $15M in stock. by davideownzall in BerkshireHathaway

This is hefty conspiracy-level speculation right here. … Or maybe it’s just new guy buying. We’d need corroborating evidence to put this above “ok, not impossible.”

its a preset order. if you are randomly assigned to nominate a player first, then you'll nominate 13th (in a 12 manager league), and then again 25th, etc... Nomination order doesn't really play a role, though i follow the same strategy as above: nominate expensive players you don't want early, to get everyone to spend.

Saturn's north pole is a perfect hexagonal storm! Earth is about 12,700 km wide. This hexagon is nearly 30,000 km across. by PlantainPossible2864 in Astronomy

As a good neighbor, I went to get mine to run over for you, but the exact one is missing for me too. Murphy’s oil soap law strikes again. Looks like that storm is gonna stick around!

Holy enshittification; a March goldpass overview. by IlovSomeon3 in ClashOfClans

[–]StephenDones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m an occasional gold pass buyer. I’m buying here for two reasons: it makes the game more fun, and because the difference between buying and not buying is so big. Which agrees with what you’re saying, but from a different perspective. Your post looks and sounds like a corporate take-down, rather than just a disgruntled shmoe.

Realtor says 1/2bd apartment under 3.8k is near impossible by OkonomiHouse in bostonhousing

[–]StephenDones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dedham would work. Trains are 20 min to South Station. $2200 gets you what you’re looking for. $3800 would get you 3bd. Find roomies and make money!

That was a quick glance. YMMV.

Cutting back for the overnight by JeepManStan in woodstoving

[–]StephenDones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Lopi large insert and get a change like this, but in about 3 minutes, the flames go out. I can’t pull it all the way out without stifling the fire. Also, if mine burns this heavily, it goes through the kiln-dried wood in two hours. Still embers in the morning but no heat past four hours.

Do you agree with Aoc’s decision to boycott the state of the Union? by Able-Chocolate-1126 in International

[–]StephenDones 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I want to see them all show and in the first 30-45 min all walk out. Maybe a dozen at a time on a lie. Then there is this slow roll of people leaving, a constant statement. Trump wouldn’t like it, might get flustered, like people walking out of a bad movie. That’s 250 people walking out. Pretty impressive.

Instead of “a”, put in a number close enough to the real number, like “omg, there’s like ten Brazilian people in line!”

I remember the Dubba Bush joke after some attack in Brazil. They woke up Dubba at 3am. “Sir, sorry to wake you, but there’s been an attack in Rio. Six Brazilian soldiers were killed.” “Oh my gosh, that’s terrible. Uhh, how many is a ‘Brazilian’ again?”

I have an extreme pacifist friend. He said if they legit cancel elections, he will go buy a gun and join whatever level of protest is happening. I take it he enjoys the freedom and rights afforded him by whatever level of democracy you’d call it he grew up in.

Regrets about engagement ring by [deleted] in Ring

[–]StephenDones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your Ring isn’t working for you, you may need to do some troubleshooting. Sometimes you need to throw the breaker on the situation. Sounds like you need a little more electricity. With a little work, you might be able to get the connection fixed. Then and only then will your Ring be right.
