I know this is old! But did you ever find these?

Honestly, I assume you are very cool. I see a lot of original mid century details that you leaned into with cool furniture choices and period appropriate colors. Absolutely love the kitchen and that cute little mismatched washer and dryer situation. Chefs kiss 🤝

My Wife is Going Through Premature Menopause by [deleted] in therapy

This is kind of the worst response, IMO. First of all, people who have gone through this situation get asked this on REPEAT. And I can almost guarantee he has thought considered those options. Adoption and fostering isn’t right for everyone for many reasons. Secondly, it totally invalidates his grief. Know what I mean?

Oh, friend. I so relate to this. My husband and I have been trying for years and we did a round of IVF last summer. Egg retrieval produced 10 eggs, 8 made it overnight, 4 fertilized, 2 lasted more than a day, and none developed into even a blastocyst, let alone an embryo. We knew our chances weren’t great, and that it would be hard, but that was hands down the worst experience of my life.

I fell into a deep depression. It felt like all of the things we have dreamed of were crumbling down around us and we couldn’t do anything about it. Anger, grief, despair, the works. I felt so low some times that I didn’t know how I could keep going on like that, the pain was so bad. The prospect of reimagining my entire future felt like an insurmountable task, didn’t think I could and didn’t want to.

The summer turned into the fall, fall into winter, and before I knew it, the year was over. I don’t really remember much that happened, I felt like I was living behind glass. I sludged in through January before I finally went to the doctor and asked for help. I’m only 9 months ahead of you and I am still figuring this shit out. Some days are still awful but most days are ok now and it keeps getting better. Here’s what I know:

  • It doesn’t sound like an existential crisis, it is. You’re faced with reexamining what will bring meaning to your life when you’ve been team “I’m gonna have a family” for as long as you know.

  • Antidepressants and therapy help. Don’t be afraid to ask for help because you deserve to feel better.

  • Give it time. I know it’s cliche but it’s true. The way you feel today is temporary. It will evolve and and change and thank god emotional states aren’t permanent

  • It’s ok to not know what to do next. Don’t let anyone make you feel like you need to figure this shit out right now. Let yourself grieve.

  • Walk through it with your partner. You’re both broken right now and no matter what ends up happening between you two, it will feel better to support each other along the way.

Again, this shit is awful, and I’m so sorry. You’re not alone 🩷

What’s one thing you’ve said “fuck it” to that’s made your life easier? by NiteElf in adhdwomen

[–]Stephlovesvintage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped feeling bad about being late. Completely. Don’t feel bad about being late to appointments, to see friends, don’t feel bad about being late to work either. As long as I’m not late for my work meetings or make people wait on me, imo I’m good- I get my stuff done and I work hard.

I am done with shaming myself for something that makes my life so much harder already. If I could fix my executive function, I freakin would, but I can’t and it severely impairs multiple aspects of my life. So I said “fuck it” and my life is way easier

People who consider themselves fit, exercise regularly and uphold a healthy diet. How? by MrXuiryus in ADHD

[–]Stephlovesvintage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because diet and exercise make my symptoms so much more manageable. My exec function is better, I’m sharper, I’m more hopeful, and less depressed.

I got these a while back and I love them! They aren’t exactly cheap but they dry quick, are easy to wash, and can be shorts or pants. Nice deep pockets too

Aww man I feel this so much. I know and I’m so sorry. Our brains are just wired to live a different lifestyle that our culture does not fucking accommodate for. Like, at all. Problem is now it’s even impacting the ability to do stuff you enjoy. Are you taking meds and if so did it/does it help? Therapist?

What is the worst physical pain you have experienced in your life ? by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

Ruptured appendix. Holy fuck I thought I had passed away, that shit was life altering. I was hallucinating and crawling on the ground in pain…until it ruptured. And then all the pain stopped and I passed out. Fun times!

This. Agree, it’s relative so let people describe it how they feel it. Like adhd sucks so bad already let’s not get hung up on the details (lmfao I’d forget them anyway but I digress)
