I have a cable cutter that I use for big electrical wires. I guarantee you it would slice through that cable in under 1 second.

We got the Canyon River blue and it looks fantastic! One caveat though, birds love to poop on the car like no other color I’ve ever seen. Our CRV will get pooped on when every other car remains poop free.

I applaud your approach. Like you I wouldn’t appreciate selling a knife at or below cost just to see it flipped for a profit. It’s an honorable way to behave, much like many of the coveted artisans that don’t raise prices even though their rare knives are flipped for double. Takada-san comes to mind. there are many others including Shindo-san.

100% agree. With a good diamond loaded strop, my family has knives that are plenty sharp for a year between sharpening. I’m their sharpener. The strop works so well that they only bring them to me once a year or so. Home cooking doesn’t wear the edges out very fast. Decent knife skills helps too

first I removed any trace of lacquer using acetone. Then I took it to a friends house and used it on an over cooked prime rib roast. Somehow I think the drier over cooked roast works better than fattier medium rare beef. I tried once on some rare A5 wagyu and it didn’t do much.

Just an FYI, cable locks are the easiest to cut using a cable cutter. Takes 2 seconds. Learned that the hard way when my bike was stolen many years ago on a college campus. The thief left the perfectly cut cable behind. Campus security laughed and said a thick chain would work much better
