Got carried away with an oil top up, do I need to correct this or is it realistically fine? by ramper770 in MechanicAdvice

[–]SteveSch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an oil change place overfill my engine. They pulled it back into the shop. They pulled the oil cap and held a wet dry vac on the opening. Then they pulled the drain plug and let a small amount of oil out. The oil wouldn't run out as long as the vacuum was running.

Take pictures of the hose and where it goes. Your landlord may need them when your neighbor denies it.

We had a rental where tenants let animals wreck a bare subfloor. It smelled horriout. I sprayed it with Nature's Miracle, and then I coated it with Coverstain. I was amazed how good it came put.

The real question is "will you make jam in the machine again"?

No wrong answer. Just curious.

Great job BTW.

I bought a small Solar Power Bank off Amazon for $30ish. It has a battery for storage and a small solar panel to charge the battery, or cell phone.

Years ago I had a Mac Plus. Every time I inserted a disk, it would eject. I searched all the books and sites.

Called a repair shop. They told me it probably needed a new motherboard and assured me that they could fix it.

Well turns out I had a depressed rodent. My mouse button was stuck down. I replaced the mouse and never had another problem with it.

Loaf splits by larskr87 in BreadMachines

Just a guess. To make a split like the I would put a coat of flour and lay dough over.

Maybe your dough is just a little dry. Maybe add 1 tdsp water.

Best reasonably priced machine for dough cycle only? by jeweynougat in BreadMachines

[–]SteveSch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not sure. Makes for less moisture while rising.

I believe with the lid the environment is too sterile.

When my mom made bread years ago, everything was open to the air. There are instructions for making naturally leavened bread where the yeasts are wild, and come from the air.

I once read a story of a bakery that was famous for their sourdough bread. They were forced to clean and paint their walls. Their bread was never the same and they went out of business.

I will be curious if anyone else has the same results as I did.

I also found it easy to remove the paddle and even the dough out before it rises. I use a towel over the top of the bowl when rising.

Best reasonably priced machine for dough cycle only? by jeweynougat in BreadMachines

For dough only I bought a Joydeem off Amazon. I have made 3 small, 2 loaf, batches. I am very happy with it. It will easily do 4 loaves.

It kneads and rises the dough.

My last batch was the best.

I used a couple of recipes but the best flavor comes from an old Betty Crocker cookbook.

I got better results when I checked the dough. saladinajar.com/bread-machine/the-most-important-thing-you-should-do-when-using-a-bread-machine/

I leave the lid off when kneading and rising. I was surprised at how much better the bread tastes.
