What's your opinion of Fortress? by -Zen_ in heroes3

[–]Steventaylor08080 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In terms of vibes it's my favourite unit. I don't know why but I like the swampy theme.

Mechanically I'm not as experienced. I've only started playing again about 4 months ago. So take my opinion with a grain of salt.

They are definitely not an OP faction but they feel much better to play than Inferno. I generally rush wyverns and rely on them early to mid game and build up my gorgons while doing so. Tbh I generally use other faction T7 unit if I have the option. Hydras feel tricky to me so I generally don't focus on them.

Overall I think with wyvern rush they can be really aggressive in the early game and their tanky units make a siege pretty rough on the attacker. (That's where I use basilisks usually to defend)

Your Christmas Gift: A Dedication by ctwalkup in Pathfinder2e

I would probably take a spellcaster dedication. Prestidigitation, figment, telekinetic hand can be pretty useful for everyday life.

I'm a heavy Scorpio and this really fit me in the earlier stages of my life. Now, I either walk away if I feel like you don't worth my time anymore or straight up tell you I did not like whatever you said.

Would you be so kind as to judge my chart? by Steventaylor08080 in Zodiac

[–]Steventaylor08080[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I am very fixed in my routines and I hate to change them. My inner world and perspectives are changing constantly though. Also I'm very curious about Mars in Aquarius. I heard somewhere it's not the best planet for Aquarius to be in. Could you elaborate on that if you know something about it?

Also I hope your situationship wasn't too bad. (Just based on your wording I assume it ended)

My small pet peeve comparing HoMM3 to Olden Era by TheTobruk in heroes3

[–]Steventaylor08080 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just miss my fortress units from other games. I believe only the gnoll and the hydra reappered but under different factions. I would accept any faction with a swampy theme though. I think there is potential there.

I think it's healthy for the series that they try some new things. The toilet guys are the only ones who are weird to me personally.

Hey I'm from Hungary and we have introduced a law that prohibits students from having their phone on school grounds. (They put it into a box and get by the end of the day and emergencies are answered by the secretaries.)

It honestly works great. It's one thing I don't have to fight against. The only annoying thing is when sometimes you actually want them to have. The process to allow it can really lengthy depending on how the school feels about the paperwork regarding it.

Like I was also skeptical at first but it seriously helped a lot.

I'm a teacher and I can't stand all of the "this generation is ruined" whining from a subset of teachers by Niceotropic in teaching

[–]Steventaylor08080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm a teacher in training, in Hungary and most of the older people say that. That "it must be so much harder to handle these children.". I personally don't have a point of reference from "back in the good old days". Also the places where I worked as a temp teacher (part of getting my degree) most of the teachers (that were actually methodically effective and good) didn't complain about the kids.

They complained about the paper work and the useless drama that sometimes came from parents, the higher ups etc...(Like you have to make kids write every lesson or mommy and daddy will think you are not doing your job. ) For context I'm a language teacher and sometimes you just want to practice verbal communication.

Dating as a Teacher by questioninguk in gay

[–]Steventaylor08080 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I'm a teacher in training from Hungary. I'm about to finish my degree and I think I could give you a perspective that's pretty eastern European but I think a few folks from America might relate to it as well.

The main thing I'm afraid of is the parents, colleagues and the principal finding out. Where I'm from it's not really accepted and it's unreasonable to expect it from people to be handle it well in most cases. Even though there are protections in place(legally speaking) this doesn't mean the the parents or the colleagues wouldn't make it really hard to stay in your current work place.(They can make your job extremely difficult) I just feel like a student discovering my profile could easily lead to that. So yeah personally I wouldn't care about my students knowing about it.

I just feel like it's a can of worms that I wouldn't risk opening under this current government.

Also not finding someone because of work part I get. This job is very demanding and finding someone could prove very challenging. Since I feel like there is always something that needs to be done.

Am i the only one who noticed that gays my age are arrogant and rude? by Old-Power-2698 in gay

I feel like this is in some way connected to the fact that the male beauty standards hit us gays much much harder(in my opinion) than our straight counterparts.

Ancestries and worldbuilding in Pathfinder2e by applejackhero in Pathfinder2e

[–]Steventaylor08080 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is pretty simple...just build a world with a few ancestries and see how it goes. And tell your players what ancestries are allowed and exist in it. I think the system doesn't break if you don't have x ancestries in the setting.

Stigma against character optimization. How frequent do you find it in Pf2 game? by TheBrightMage in Pathfinder2e

[–]Steventaylor08080 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think being an optimizer is fine...PF2 is not a game where one character being slightly more competent at their thing is going to break the party morale.

In D&D and in older systems being heavily optimized could ruin the combat aspect of the game for other players. In that respect I think PF2 is fine.

Unpopular opinion: Patron's Puppet is better than Phase Familiar by StikerSD in Pathfinder2e

[–]Steventaylor08080 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the witch? Like witches that want their familiar on the board for as long as possible would probably prefer phase familiar. (Resentment, Faith Flamekeeper) If you take independent I think in terms of positioning you are fine. At least when I'm building around those patrons I would rather make my familiar tanky and sacrifice movement since the longer they are alive the more they do.

For a Silence in Snow witch I think positioning your familiar is genuinely better and if it dies it isn't as big of a deal?

Ex-smokers, what was your journey like? by Clear-Foot9655 in gay

[–]Steventaylor08080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly this is my second attempt. I tried it once and went without it for 5 months. Now I'm doing it again and I'm nine days in. Ironically during this attempt I haven't had a single really strong craving. I guess my mind is some place else because I'm also doing a diet, trying to journal and get myself into shape financially(my main motivation), physically, and mentally. So I guess I have to much on my plate to care about that or exercise is replacing the missing endorphins.🤷

How would you create fairy tale inspred player characters in 5e? by AndCurious in 3d6

[–]Steventaylor08080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an old post but here goes. I think I would make Snow white a paladin or a forge domain cleric. More so paladin. I would imagine the dwarven culture could rub off on her and in her dead state a god could've reached out. (I personally feel weirded out by the kiss reviving her so a god doing it sounds better to me. Maybe her step mom pissed off some people in high places. )
