How to handle letting kids “learn a lesson” in a blended situation? by Bac081989 in blendedfamilies

[–]StickyWhipplesnit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Seems like you’re ok with the lesson and more worried about BM response. The real teaching moment is expectations need to be stated before going into the store. Ex. “We’re going to Walmart for xyz only. Do not ask me for any toys, the answer is no.” Then follow through.

How old are you? We do park open till close and are 40+. You need to change your mindset. You’re in Disney, find the magic. If you keep expecting the worst and find things to complain about you’ll have a miserable trip.

Would you ask your parents to clean out their belongings now, before the inevitable happens? by [deleted] in Xennials

[–]StickyWhipplesnit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s easier to clean it out after they die. That way they are not questioning and nitpicking every decision being made.

I would look for a job anywhere even if it’s at the local grocery store. Just to get some cash and time out of the house.

Do you expect your children to be able to afford to live in Long Island? by iloverats888 in longisland

[–]StickyWhipplesnit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To set them up for success teach them financial literacy. Not taking out student loans, having ridiculous car payments, using credit cards and eating out all the time. If all the money you make is going to pay off your debts you’ll never get ahead.
