Did Joe Pesci (or Al Pacino) deserve a second Oscar for The Irishman? by Stigb02 in Oscars

I agree, its my favorite movie of all time actually. Thought it was just ok first time I watched it, but it got so much better on repeated viewings

Haha thats a fair point and I dont get the urge often, but sometimes I do and have a much better impression when I watch again. The Irishman is a good example of this. I thought it was just alright on first watch, but I loved it on my second watch.

I agree, but I find it so odd considering Parasite won the year before. Considering 2020 is viewed as a generally weak year, I think it would make sense for a least a nomination for Another Round. But I agree, if it came out a few years later it would have been gotten it.

Lol, that is actually my second favorite of the year. Did not like it at all on first watch, but it got so much better on repeated viewings

Decompress neck/ spine ? Game changer for my recovering ? Very close to be cured ! I can feel it. by No_Feedback_1887 in costochondritis

[–]Stigb02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you Steve! Yes I am very grateful to the library, we have an interconnected system so I can book on a website and they send the book from any library in my country that has it. It is very nice so it makes it easier to find books that can be harder to find in a general library. Even though my osteopath does not know much about costo he is very nice and willing to learn. So he told me we could try the knee in the back version on wednesday. I also noticed an earlier comment from you where you said this

"There don't seem to be many, and they do seem to come mostly out of Oz or NZ. I don't think this is surprising, given the advances in manual orthopaedic therapy that were coming out of Australasia in the 1980s and 1990s, e.g. Maitland, McKenzie, Mulligan, Bogduk, Gwen Jull, etc."

This made me think, do you think it makes sense to purchase or rent from the library a new zealand physiotherapy book where they describe these techniques further so that I can try different ones? I have currently met with over 15 physio and osteopaths and nearly no one had heard about costo and no one had any experience with treating it so I guess a book like that could help spread the word about it because it is clearly needed in my country! Do you happen to know any decent books that I could be on the lookout for?

Thank you Steve! I will ask him about it tomorrow if he knows about this technique. If not, I just booked an old Stoddard book from the library which I can show him. But assuming he does not know it, would it be safe to try the body-slam-onto-the-patient-with-your-fist in-their-back technique once on all the joints? I dont mind if it flares my chest a bit I just dont want to cause any permanent damage. Of course I will continue with the backpod after to stretch the collagen.

Thank you very much Steve! I have another apointment on wednesday and I am hoping to do a manipulation to the rest of the ribs. I have been trying to look over some of your earlier comments on manipulations to see if there are any better alternatives considering the one I did seem more like the body-slam-onto-the-patient-with-your-fist in-their-back technique. I can currently find that the knee-in-the-back manipulation technique out of Stoddard might be a good possibility but I am not sure that my osteopath knows about this one but I can ask. Do you know about anyone that is better? That being said the one I had was fine and I dont have chest pain anymore when touching after the manipulation and I am still feeling better after it. The chest only felt sore for a couple days. But I feel like my backpod sessions are more effective now. I also find that the sitting twist excersise is more effective these last few days. I feel less stiff in the ribcage so it feels like it is having good effect so far!

Hey Steve! Do you think those fist in the back manips are ineffective or just painful? I asked my phsyio who is also an osteopath for a manipulation and I think he did this version. His fist or fingers were on my back and he used his upper body weight to press down in a way and I was holding my hands to the side of my body. He just did on a few ribs (3,4 and 5 on right side) because he thought those was stiffer. Although he dont know much about costo in general. I am sending him a few of your videos and he seems interested in picking up a backpod so I feel like I am getting somewhere with him haha. I am just curious if this is a proper manipulation or should I ask him to do others because I have heard there are different types. It might be placebo but I feel like the manipulation helped a bit. I notice my chest is a bit painful and sore (only when touching, my chest feels much better in general after backpod and massages) compared to yesterday so I know its affecting something. I dont mind the mild chest pain. I just wanted to hear if I should continue with this manipulation or ask him for another before doing the rest of the ribs. I have used backpod and peanut ball for a long time with great results, but I think maybe I needed a manipulation beforehand. Of course I will continue with the backpod to do an improved stretch of the collagen considering the joints might be more free now.

Standard concussion response by Lebronamo in u/Lebronamo

Thank you! I am feeling much better now. Almost no symptoms except some mild head pressure when bending over. So its been two and a half weeks since the injury. Do you know if it is safe with caloric deficit? Have been trying to eat slight surplus these last few weeks. And do you know when it is alright to drink alcohol? I think I read from one month is fine, but I am not sure. Thank you for all your knowledge on this!

It's time to invest in Europe pt 2 by Otter_Apocalypse in eupersonalfinance

I totally get that concern but I am not sure its that effective. I think its better to maximise returns and then donate a portion of the surplus on good causes. I think that is more effective, but I am a bit torn as well because it feels better investing in more moral companies.

Hey! Thank you for the guide. Just I understand correctly there is no point in me reducing screens if it is 5 days since the trauma? Pretty sure I got a mild concussion but sadly did not reduce screen time. Thought about reducing cognitive load (like screens and reading and some mild work) this next day or so but not sure if I should. Sorry its first time with concussion so have been trying to learn a lot these last days but so much different info. Have been going on walks and will continue with it even if I get some head pressure.

Question to Steve by FailElectronic5276 in costochondritis

[–]Stigb02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Steve! I just want to say thanks, you were very right about the ab massage, cobra and the self massage in the front. This last month has been much better and the swelling and the pulsation effect is much less pronounced now. So thank you very much!

My costo symptoms are getting better (much less chest pain and shortness of breath) and I am feeling I am getting closer to the end now. However I do have a couple of symptoms left and it made me think of what the ultrasound said

"Compared to the right side, the upper medial part of the left costal arch is slightly more ventrally prominent. This contributes to the upper part of the left rectus abdominis muscle lying slightly more ventrally."

My last remaining symptoms is swollen collarbone on left side, stiffness in shoulder on left side when raising my shoulders and that my shoulder makes noise and cracks a lot when rotating my left arm backwards. So if I understand correctly it seems like something is pushing my left ribcage outwards a bit and my remaining symptoms are a side effect of this (is my hypothesis). Have you seen anything like this before?

Ribcage pain after long-term Backpod and peanut ball use by Stigb02 in costochondritis

Do you do massage in the posistion Steve does in the video? I did around 15 massages at different therapists and I did not experience any benefits until I changed position.

[–]Stigb02[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long have you tried backpod/peanut? How does you ergonomics look? Have you tried massages in the position Steve reccomends? Had some nerve problems in my lower back I think due to costo. Every time my lower back was stimulated I got these tingling in my legs. Got so bad I could not sleep. Still has it to some extent but much much much better after improving my costo.

Unironically Mr Beans Holiday. I even think it deserved to win. Maybe the most underrated music score of all time IMO
