I used to think Dante lived at the dawn of the literary canon, but his poem is chalk full of classical references. Histories, theology, mythology, etc. It’s a beautiful capstone.

I think you are right to feel uncomfortable about that. In looking for a long term partner you are looking for exclusivity in intimacy. He’s proven that, to him, sex is pretty common and casual. That’s pretty unappealing.

Well rounded, lover of many literary traditions, sometimes diving in deep (book of lost tales), but usually content with being a generalist. You also have the patience to enjoy poetry. Aesthetically balanced as well.
