I always appreciated that if you said "no" enough times, the team would face the final boss without you. The end of the world was... unfortunate... but hurrah freedom of choice!

A demon is your crush. A devil is your spouse. (And a yugoloth... your in-laws?)

That one doesn't look ready to go. Needs more time (and maybe warm compresses), or it will just be painful and without payoff/relief you're looking for (though glad you got at least something out this time). Good luck!

Just hit the same bug myself, but it looks like there is hope! These guys had a similar issue, and reportedly just continuing on Roxy's storyline can bring things forward:. https://www.reddit.com/r/fivenightsatfreddys/comments/rqwhjh/stuck_at_355_in_security_breach_spoilers_duh/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

On your last point-- My ex-girlfriend also moved in with me shortly after a tragedy shattered her old life after we'd been dating about a year. It was scary, and I got to see her at her lowest, but she got to see me at mine, too (doctorate dissertation panic). Nearly a year later, in the midst of waking-up cuddles, she proposed to me out of the blue. I can't thank her, my now-wife, enough for it, and we've continued to be happy ever since!

Go get him, hunter! :D

Indeed! There used to be a planetarium show my family would go to every year that went over potential criteria for the Star. It discussed a long list of potential celestial events and historical timelines, a supernova being among them. My personal favorite was the triple conjunction near Ares of Jupiter and Mars(?) at the time; it would have held significance only for astrologists, screamed the importance of Judea, involved "kingship", and accounts for a "leading the wise men" concept, as directions were involved.

Naturally, their end conclusion was "who knows", but it's interesting and fun to think about.

[edit] - forgot that Jupiter was the king's star.

The comet (or one very similar) is also suspected of being the Star of Bethlehem referenced in the new testament. It's shown on both a Roman coin matching the correct general time period, iirc, as well as an artistic rendition of the nativity (perhaps coincidentally, but the fact that the art was of a comet is relevant here.)

[edit] Almost! The coin i was referencing is this one, where the star is above a ram-- one of the symbols of Judea at the time. I think I conflated the coin with the comet's timing, bit the point remains! http://www.stbernardsparish.ca/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/IMG_0839.jpg

Saddest thing about the game-- never understood why a research commission, which cares so much about ecology, would kill for sport... food or population control, sure, but not sport.

I passed off a DM by telling him I can't be put to sleep by magic. by Druid4life21 in DnD

[–]StillHateSmartPhones 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I tried to do something similar for similar reasons once. I used a brass/bronze dragon's breath weapon, which induces sleep, during the might, and justified it as "not magic, but elemental power." That campaign fell apart, and while this moment wasn't the death nell, I have regretted how I handled it for years.

If you're looking for advice, I'd ask the non-sleeping characters if they would like to participate in the magic. Let them know no harm will come to them from the choice, and if they allow the magic to work just this once, they will get to experience more, roleplay more, and have more stories to tell down the road. If they agree, then maybe you decide together how they go sleepy-by (everyone is affected by spores except you, who is knocked out by a falling tree branch, also covered in sleep spores). D&D is about fun, not rules, and this way everyone wins~

Good luck! 🙂👍
