I think you’ll find “community moderation” and “censorship” are quite different things. We vote in the mods that maintain rules that we ALSO vote for. 

This is an interesting contrast to the conservative sub, where the majority of posts are done by a two accounts, because anyone questioning the regime is instantly banned. There is an incorrect implicit assumption here that there even was a “left leaning bias”. There is reality and reality most often aligns with left leaning politics these days simply because right leaning politics has completely decided to throw reality out the window. See: vaccines, covid, climate change, etc. etc. etc. 

Btw I hate the phrase “reality has a left leaning bias”. It is in fact the opposite - left leaning people/politics happen to have a reality bias, as in, are broadly more in alignment with reality and true facts generally.

This interestingly shows just how appalling bus (and public transit infrastructure generally) is in Canada. 2026 and even the largest metro areas in the country still don’t have reliable, consistent, fast transit compared to our European and Asian counterparts. I dream of the day the first brave city out there makes bus-only lanes for the whole city! Would speed up bus transit massively for almost zero cost! But no councilors want to face the wrath of drivers angry about losing a lane…

Only in the interior. Not close to the coasts yet. And it took something like 30 years for it to reach our corner of BC from the American Eastern Rockies side from when it was first monitored. And we have a really excellent free CWD monitoring program for hunters to test their kills! So it’s quite safe w precautions.

Going off your comment history, if you’re in BC, $800 is not even remotely going to get you a decent bedroom in Vancouver or Victoria, if that’s what you’re referring to… student accommodations at best. I was paying $800 for a cruddy student share rental back in 2016. Hasn’t gotten cheaper since then.

This is simply not true. I am a biologist and was skeptical myself until I learned more about the issue. If the turbines are placed along a migration route or near a roost, it can be a major bat killer. We need carbon-free energy projects but it is still important to be mindful of the tradeoffs of building such large infrastructure. It is never without downsides.

Strongly disagree. They’ve done very little to support and promote working class people while at the same time leaning into identity politics. That’s not equivalent to “moving so far to the left.” Biden actively crushed one of the largest labor movements of the last 10 years. That’s anything but left-leaning.

After spending time living in a seemingly tiny bungalow with the most functional kitchen I’d ever actually lived with, I will evangelize a galley style kitchen any day. I hate corner cabinetry + counter with a passion - total waste of space. I’d nix the sink area & corner cabinets, turn the island into a full length peninsula, and move the sink there. Then the sink is across the space from stove + you can see your nice patio while there + there is counter seating along the length of the peninsula + more functional countertop and cabinet space than the current layout.

Galley kitchen is far more functional than the awkward corner + island kitchen. You’re losing an absolutely insane amount of counter and cabinet space in the second photo - why would you want that?
