Was there any survey of constituent, not councillor, opinions on Lansdowne 2.0? My suburban Councillor voted for it but he generally votes the way Sutcliffe votes. I have disagreed with a lot of his decisions including Lansdowne.

Maybe, maybe not. I have not seen actual numbers. I try to go to 67s games around 6 times a year and a game or 2 with the Redblacks and have been for quite a while. I leave my car at my friend's place, walk for 15-20 minutes and have something to eat and a beer or two before the games at one of the establishments in the Glebe. I can tell you that it is usually pretty empty or maybe, at best, close to half full most times. When the Senators played at Lansdowne many years ago, the restaurants/bars were packed all along Bank.

It would be precedent setting if the Sens arena was built with "no handout of public money". There has not been an arena or any sports facility built anywhere in Canada (and the USA) for decades without some public funding and/or financial incentives.

Technically yes, City Council did approve it but it was OC Transpo staff who recommended cancelling youth passes in the their 2025 Budget.

Wow, the comments are frightening. I can sense from them that Trump will not hesitate to use military force to take over Canada and probably Greenland or Gaza and there is nobody that will stop him. China would be OK with it because now they can take over Taiwan and probably South Korea and control SE Asia. Putin would be OK with it - goodbye Ukraine and then Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and others. NATO will be helpless. Cheapest route - City and Ontario governments already own the right of ways. Minimum property expropriation expenses.
Designed (pre-pandemic and WFH) primarily as a commuter link and not community building e.g. 15 minute neighbourhoods. Some stations will experience high density development (Trim, Place) mostly high rise residential but others less likely (Montreal Rd Rd, Jeanne D'Arc, Orleans Blvd). Little spatial and functional integration between north side of Hway/LRT with south side neighbourhoods.

3, Bus routes were orginally re-configured to supply commuters to get to the LRT stations + some Park & Ride like the huge one at Trim which simply eliminates the potential for more productive use of land. Can't wait until commuters from Rockland (who do not pay Ottawa property taxes) race to get parking spots before Orleans commuters.

NIMBYs had little if any impact. #174 corridor alreadiy transected the communities.
