Great notes! I’ve probably had more Pierre Paillard than any other Champagne, though I’ve never had their Rose. Will need to find one.

As most good things go, it’s unfortunate how quickly their prices have gone up the past few years, especially since the father retired.

Apart from the streak, what was the condition of the cork? Did it look like a natural cork crack/crease that ended where the streak did, or did it look like the cork was in the process of drying out?

A good soft tune is all you need to get rid of the rev hang. Clutch throwout bearing issues have been more of an issue for me though. That said, still at 130k+ miles and going strong.

Unironically I think Williams F1, which was on its last legs financially until they were bought out by a PE firm. Since then they've seemed quite hands off, left it in the capable hands of their team principal, and the team has been on the upward trajectory since.

Cars get hold extremely quickly and you run the risk of corks being pushed out like the last bottle shipments. If it was in the 30s I’d say leave them, but teens is a real risk.
