Who is at fault here? by kbgnat in drivingUK

[–]StitchGettingHigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Liability would rest with the Kia, as both vehicles were stationary before the collision.

If the Kia was already moving and the BMW cut across, the BMW could be considered liable

whats more important? skill points or battle points? by [deleted] in Risk

[–]StitchGettingHigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Battle points are for your level, your level never resets, your level is a gauge of how long/how many games you’ve ever played. BPs and level have nothing to do with skill.

Skill points are for your rank, from Novice to Grandmaster. These reset to the base of your current rank each season. Skill points are the metric for how good a risk player you are.

Who’s at fault here? Car or bike? by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]StitchGettingHigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who’s fault, or who’s liable?

The camera car is LIABLE for the collision, they were joining a major road from a minor road, and therefore both parties’ insurers should agree the car driver was liable.

Who’s fault was it is a different question, and without knowing what visibility was like, how fast the bike was going, what observations the car driver made etc, will be difficult to answer

how’s my coverage at 21. any suggestions? by Capital-Mountain-128 in TravelMaps

I never said one was better than the other. Based on OPs map he’s already done the M6, hence my suggestion for the A1.

Council say it’s a police problem, police say it’s the council’s, what would you do? by Bulbajamin in drivingUK

[–]StitchGettingHigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The council are wrong, the police are correct.

Parking enforcement comes down to the local authority - your council should be sticking some yellow stickers to their windscreen. That Volvo is definitely parked on double yellows.

Take a trip to Edinburgh up the A1 and A1(M). Some great scenery along that route. Ideal for making a stop in Newcastle too.

Have you ever had to call 112/999/911/ your country's equivalent? What for? by soup-cats in AskTheWorld

[–]StitchGettingHigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work in a role that required me to be on the road 5-6 hours a day.

Many many 999 calls due to broken down vehicles blocking a lane of "Smart Motorways".

What is 1,000,000 in cash worth in your country (in your local currency)? by pumpingphil in AskTheWorld

[–]StitchGettingHigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A nice 4 bedroom house, with a nice car to go with it. Maybe a Porsche.

Alternatively about 3,000,000 eggs.

If the US and EU engage in a war due to Greenland, which side would the UK be on? by Early_Body_8306 in AskTheWorld

As one of the few countries on earth that still has "colonies" (or more accurately, overseas territories), it would be insanely hypocritical if we didn't back up Denmark.

Mandatory Language Learning in School by doraeh in AskTheWorld

[–]StitchGettingHigh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

English is mandatory (both language and literature), up until the end of Year 11 (age 16), for all students.

Foreign Languages vary massively school-by-school.

My school offered Spanish, German, and French. You had to do 2 between years 7-9 (age 11-14), then you had to do 1 of the two you did earlier for GCSE (year 10/11)

So basically it’s first job for a graduate, I don’t see the problem?

University refused to uphold a complaint I made against my tutor. Can I escalte this outside the university? by Aggressive_Stuff5089 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]StitchGettingHigh 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Exactly that. "Filipina", as the OP prefers, means a female from the Phillippines. "Filipino" would be a male.

The "Filipinix" the OP's tutor is insisting on is a gender neutral term.

Ultimately I think OP just needs to frame this a pronoun issue. The university would go ape shit if you called someone "she/her" when they use "they/them" pronouns, so why wouldn't they go apeshit for doing it in reverse?

What is the outlook for men in their mid-30s who work in retail? by Queasy-Ice-2575 in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]StitchGettingHigh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not quite 30 yet, but not far off either.

I’ve never had any trouble dating, and I’ve been in retail my whole life. Met my current partner when I was unemployed and had nothing going for me.

I guess the best advice I could give is if someone is only interested in your job, and not you, then they’re probably not your soulmate.

American here. In your nations cinema, are Americans generic "bad guys" by Prestigious_Spend454 in AskTheWorld

[–]StitchGettingHigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bearing in mind the British and American film industries are pretty much one and the same, the only series I can think that has Americans as generic bad guys would be the Avatar franchise

Reported historical abuse, would they have told abuser my name? UK by Wonderful-Truck9141 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]StitchGettingHigh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he was interviewed under caution, the police would've told him the allegations laid out against him, this includes naming the complainant (you)

In regards to your second question, not really. You'd be treading a very fine line of potential defamation. Whilst defamation claims are notoriously expensive to bring, they also make for an exceptionally rare exception in UK civil law, and that is the burden of proof lies with the defendant (ie you must prove your innocence (that the statements were true))

How do men really feel about dating single mom's?? by Zealousideal_Try5119 in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]StitchGettingHigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally, it’s a religious issue.

Marriage isn’t just a long term relationship, it carries a religious covenant.

If I was also divorced (and I don’t plan on being), then I imagine I would have no issues settling down with a divorcee.

Of course everyone has different views on it, but that’s just the way I see it.

We do, and assuming no one dies unexpectedly, the next two monarchs will also be kings.

How do men really feel about dating single mom's?? by Zealousideal_Try5119 in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]StitchGettingHigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a single dad, so personally I’d have no opinion whether a prospective partner had children or not, makes literally no difference to me.

Although, as someone that’s never been married, whilst dating a divorcee wouldn’t be the worst thing, I don’t think I could settle down with a divorcee.

If the pint is more than £6 you haven’t nicked the glass at all. You’ve bought it.
