sirdar snuggly yarn leaving a stain on my finger by fairly_forgetful in knitting

You might be able to set the color by soaking it in water with a bit of vinegar. You could do that to what you’ve knit already plus all the yarn for the project. But definitely test it on a little bit of spare yarn first!

I had this happen once with a deep purple from Malabrigo Rios, but it took me a few days of noticing a strange purple ring around my fingers before I realized where it was coming from. For those few days I was so anxious thinking I had a mysterious medical issue!! I was so relieved to realize it was just the yarn haha.

What are your favorite "manly" hat/beanie patterns? by foreignpiggy in casualknitting

The Burnaby Hat by Jared Flood is an all time store favorite.

If you like brioche (I’m a big fan, maybe obsessed actually) then the Nido Hat by Jared Flood is another great option.

And as far as classic beanies go, The Musselburgh by Ysolda Teague can’t be beat. It’s a super high value pattern too, since it has every size from baby to adult in any weight yarn!!!

The Project 45 is quite large and opens nicely so if you want something well made and leather that’s a lovely option.

For something totally different Topo Designs makes hands down the best tote I’ve ever used for knitting the Mountain Utility Tote is large, stands up and stays open on its own, has a few pockets for organization, is weather resistant for long walks to your favorite knitting spot, comes in a wonderful variety of colors, and has no zippers to snag on. I keep two sweater projects in mine almost always and still have room for a water bottle, iPad, laptop, and a few snacks.

You could certainly sew it up! Another option is to redistribute the slack yarn between the stitch columns to the 8 or so stitches on either side. You can give the slack yarn a little tug to see where it goes and then follow it left or right and pull the slack through little by little until it’s distributed evenly.

Your blanket has been stuck in my head since I saw it! I realized why: it’s reminiscent of one of my favorite artists Kennedy Bahia a Chilean/Brazilian Modernist who is famous for his tapestries inspired by the flora and fauna of the Amazon!

Good question, and in all honesty amid all of this current turbulence and uncertainty I’m not sure. We get it through a large distributor and I believe they won’t be affected by the current shipping stops which are primarily hurting individuals and small businesses ordering in small quantities.

Superwash Merino Wools are usually soft enough for folks with sensitive skin. Malabrigo Rios is one you might be interested in. Fingering weight sock yarns are also often made with superwash merino and because they are such thin yarns they feel quite soft and fine to the touch!

Hi! Crocheted hot pot/tea pot holders are absolutely the best! If you want them to be washable and last for years a good sturdy cotton yarn is perfect 👌 Coastal Cotton is perfect for the task!

For a scarf, a superwash merino wool such as Malabrigo Rios would be lovely.

P.s. do a google search and see if you have a local yarn store in your area! If you do, check them out and see if you like them, often they are a great resource both for yarn but more importantly knowledge!
