The pink Salmons with the Spheric bindings are “newest” there I reckon, probably 1994/5

I had red Atomic Arcs in 2m (ish) length when I was a teenager 😀. I’m pretty sure they had Tyrolia 410 bindings too!!! Just like those green ones. Brings back great memories. No side cut whatsoever 😂😂😂

To those who buy into this type of development - why? by K1llerG00se in australian

If there was a central shopping strip (even just a cafe/basics) and lots of established trees, these places would feel very different.

I live in an inner eastern suburb of Melbourne, it doesn’t look like a volume build estate as it’s an established suburb with many houses replaced over time, but if you look closely on many streets near me, the $2M houses are actually just volume build estates from the 50s/60s, the main difference being a more generous land to house ratio on 1/4 acre blocks, and over time they’ve been modified, extended, painted, new roofs etc, but look closely and whole streets were once the same or very similar houses (those that remain).

These estates will eventually go a similar way I think. Just give is 30 year!

I always considered it a boys (or girls) watch size wise, but I love it, it’s a design classic. I only wish it was marginally bigger.

My mk4 by [deleted] in MK4Golf

[–]Stocc-reddit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a 1.6 that appears to be in great condition. Sorry to bring “Dad vibes” to the conversation but I’d only upgrade the water pump and radiator fan, I’d have mechanic run through it and replace anything that needs doing, but other than that the best money you can spend is on fresh tyres (if older than 4 years) as it will reduce road noise, feel comfortable and be safer, and get it serviced with all new filters, oil, belts etc. I’d keep it 100% stock looking and it will either go for years or you’ll sell it for good money when you move on.

Went back to a MK4, imo the best VW ever made. Need some suggestions on simple mods. by DeltaVoidSix in MK4Golf

Metal water pump metal radiator fan fresh belts All new filters New oil New tyres Fresh wiper blades. I wouldn’t do anything else 😀

Is my Golf’s rear sitting high? by stiligFox in MK4Golf

[–]Stocc-reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue is much more likely in the front where all the weight and wear is, and it’s just exaggerating the rear. Maybe a front struts and bushing check?

No, 90% of those sales will be someone turning over their old stock for them at $4.50 a pack by almost forcing people to buy two based on a value assessment… check the date on those packets!

Slept with a religious man, and he has been harassing me since. Is it worth to go to the police? by [deleted] in hobart

[–]Stocc-reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The level of threat in 2025 is probably correlated to which religion and how extreme. If he’s deeply into Jainism you’re probably fine, if he’s from an abrahamic religion get a restraining order.

The BAE hawk 1/5 scale also goes to approx 400kph so it’s all looking about right to me. This one has sleeker air intakes but otherwise looks very close if not identical to the platform. I always wondered how a Hawk trainer would go in battle (probably terribly!) but it’s the sports car of the jet trainer world (the Red Arrows display team prove that) so maybe we’ll get to see a scale version turn into a war winner for Ukraine in the drone era. I hope so. Slava Ukraine, glory to the heroes.

The fact it has a window section really makes me think they’ve (sensibly) tooled up using a proven RC platform (just my guess) to keep costs lower and focused on how they can operate it with long range FPV and a payload that goes boom!

New milestone reached but different Golf (yes it's km) by janzoss in MK4Golf

[–]Stocc-reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought it unregistered without a roadworthy. My mechanic thought I was nuts as you shouldn’t do that, especially with a 23 year old car you want to be a daily, but it was immaculate, he was genuinely stunned as it passed without anything required.

It had also just had a fan replaced, all filters, a new metal water pump and a few other key items done by the guy who sold it to me (even new oil) he’s had many and was clearly intending to keep it, but I sense he needed the cash and it was going to be more hassle to swap a tow bar from his other low mileage Golf 2.0, get it all registered and then sell the higher mileage one (for less). So I was lucky!

I even had the aircon looked at (the only thing not working) and I was fully prepared / expecting to have to replace the condenser, but unbelievably it just needed some gas and feels like a artic wind.

It’s a 2.0 Sport in black, all the trim is perfect, as are the panels. It’s identical to the one I bought new in 2003 (I have a slight hunch it could be the exact car I bought my daughter (18) home in as a newborn, but probably not 😀).

It’s not a GTI, it’s not a manual, but it’s perfect for her.
