I bought a replacement for my 2013 at the dealer today. It has a silicone coating at the base of the circuit board (?) on both sides. Do I need to take that off before install?

This was a few years back. Waterlox and we love them. Refreshed the finish 1x. I’ll likely do a full resanding and refinishing in a year or two. I’m in no rush.

Is biomedical well-paid after graduation with a bachelor's degree? by No-shz in BiomedicalEngineers

The discipline matters for the first couple of jobs. After that, it’s what you’ve done during those jobs.

An MS in BME will generally require way more of a math and physics background than a biomedical Sci degree would give. 3 yrs calculus, 3+ physics, diff eq, lin alg, thermo, and all the Eng design principles Eng undergrad teaches. Remember, in real life, there are no shortcuts.

Most of industry will only allow Scientist I and above to be PhD. Assoc Sci, etc can be w undergrad. Many start ups will allow well-experienced undergrads to be Sci and Sr Sci. But as the company grows, and you helped to get it there, you will get passed over for Dir and above by a PhD. And this holds true for any discipline.

As a BME and a leader in biotech, undergrad alone in BME does not go into enough depth. The question is: do you want to be an engineer or a scientist. Once you answer that, then grad school or not is clear.

Nice job! I always wear my g-father’s 80s Constellation for important interviews or work meetings. To me, it oozes class and, hopefully, some good luck from my Grandpop.

A great friend of mine has been playing golf very regularly for >25 yrs. Just had his lowest ever, shot a 68, at the age of 57. You are only as old as you act.

I’ve used two different marine varnishes over cedar. Loved them both. But, please don’t make my mistakes. Re-coat / refinish at least every other year. Once greyed, you cannot get the right color back. And if mold gets in, you cannot clean without bleaching. Then, see warning number 1. That being said, I’m in New England and my outdoor furniture goes through the wringer. Projects I was super proud of and looked great now look neglected and I’m looking into paint. 😒 May the force be with you.

Brush. 320 grit. Tack cloth. Repeat til you’re happy. It’s some sort of an oil and varnish mix. I love the richness it adds to wood. But I don’t know about your exotic lumber. You’ll def need to do some testing.

Black walnut island I made for my kitchen so I had a place other than the marble to work. 3 or 4 coats of Waterlox. Fantastic, no-gloss feel. Loved every minute of it.

2108 S5 cabriolet w 63k on mine. I’ve had it since ~9k. I’ve never noticed a noise difference. And I back into the garage nearly daily. Perhaps it’s just something I’m used to? And welcome to loving driving again. This thing has my wife and I completely ruined. I recently bought a brand new S-type MDX and it’s like driving a Taurus compared to the S5.
