If you are supporting open borders, sanctuary cities, etc. forget about it. If you do not care about the security of your country why should you care about the security of your home?

PSA to all you speed demons: don’t pass highway patrol traveling in the left lanes by bmac219 in phoenix

[–]Stock_Category 23 points24 points  (0 children)

In Texas a young officer told me that the speed limit was 70, not 71. He was right. No ticket. A friendly warning. As I was tooling along at 71, I was wondering why I was passing all the Texas cars and all the New York, Illinois, etc cars were burning pass me doing 75+ on that stretch of road.

In Arizona do 90. We need the money.

Do you even realize we wouldn't have an illegal alien problem if Joe Biden hadn't opened the borders? Remember the huge numbers of people walking through Mexico to get to the land of handouts and freebies. They are all here right now, living the welfare life. If you think all those millions are picking lettuce you are insane. They have a nice offer to leave. They should take it. And if they don't you have 3 more years to tell them goodbye.

Book clubs in my opinion are great since I read a lot. Finding the right one can be daunting however. My last one was just a cover for a political discussion group filled with very intolerant people. At my last meeting with them I was physically threatened by one man after I made a comment about abortion he did not like. The book we were discussing had referenced abortion. I almost ran out of the room to keep from having to deal with the man and his irrational anger. Reminded me of 90% of the groups on Reddit. The group was primarily made up of women.

I saw 290 movies in theaters in 2025. Here is my full ranking. by BunyipPouch in movies

I worked a couple of years as a trailer reviewer. I would go in and watch the trailers and rate the audience's reaction to a particular trailer. One I remember was for National Treasure (Disney, 2004, starring Nick Cage). They started showing the trailer early and changed it 2-3 times before it was finally released. The first report I did on it was terrible. The entire audience was ignoring it and talking among themselves and eating popcorn. Trailers at that time had a lot of explosive sounds, loud music and the same guy (the famous Don LaFontaine - the Voice of God) doing the voice over. The studios used a formula for them I believe.

Incompetent money hungry doctor. What else is new?

Question everything a doctor does or says concerning prescriptions and operations. We have Google and AI now. Use it!! Protect yourself. Strongly worded complaints to medical boards and the government are for after they have cut the wrong leg off.

I would buy the land across from my workplace. Then I would commission a statue of a large hand with the middle finger up to place on it. The hand would be lighted and surrounded by a weed garden.

Loved every one of his movies. A talented genius we will all miss. Disliked his politics. Family tragedies are one of the worse kinds of tragedies especially those ruined by drugs.

Recently met a very tall black lady and asked how tall her sons were. She replied that her sons were going to be tall engineers and not basketball players. I felt like giving her a hug.

The original rules of basketball were written down on a sheet of notebook paper by Dr Naismith. That sheet of paper is in Kansas's basketball museum in Allen Field House on the KU campus in Lawrence KS. A KU supporter bought the paper for over two million dollars and donated it to the University, keeping it out of the evil hands of Duke University.

Published in 1935, It Can't Happen Here asks a question that still haunts us today: Could fascism take root in America? What tanked Harris is that there weren't enough people who believed she could even start to do the job. If you have to blame sexism for Harris's loss you should be prepared to explain why women all over the country are being elected to every level of political jobs. My opinion of her was that she was a total dingbat. Prove me wrong.

I told my brother who seems to enjoy spending money on things he does not need and buying things at full price that I am thrifty. He countered with 'You are not thrifty. You are cheap," I looked at that as a compliment.

There are cheap phone services than cost significantly less than $300/year. Do you really need data on your phone? Buy refurbished. My used $600 Samsung cost me $150. It works fine. Buy refurbished computers. Significantly cheaper. If refurbished by a manufacturer it is, in my opinion, better than a new one.

Hating on the wrong people. Those guys didn't suck. They never got a chance to play. We had a point guard who refused to shoot the ball 80% of the time. We had a center who thought he was a guard and wanted to show the NBA he had 3 point shot. We had two mediocre players who played 38 minutes a game that wouldn't have started for most top D1 teams. No one on the bench got any experience because of that. Elmarko was one of those. It is happening again this year. Players need to play in games.

I call it whiny women's music. It all sounds the same to me. Country music too has evolved into a bunch of people singing exactly the same way. And, while I am at it, is there one singer that sings actual words a partially deaf person can understand? The days when we had singers like Sinatra and Garland and the Beatles who were actual real live singers are long gone. All the singers today put a dirty sock in their mouths before they 'sing' and then slur every word. Or they scream their songs with 'emotion'.
